    pistons/liners/rings

I am in the process of building my engine , and to keep costs down was going to clean up the liners nd pistons , and fit new rings, or should i buy new liners and rings and pistons ??

So when would you fit new pistons nd liners ?? the crowns on the pistons do not have any pitting marks the liners have no major steps in them or scoring ??

peoples thoughts on this before i start thanks matt

    Re: pistons/liners/rings

    Clean pistons carefully.
Hone liners with a three leg honer and clean carefully and replace in same hole.
Fit new rings and bed in properly when running in.

Liners are a bit of a pain to hone and most engine shops charge around 20 squid a hole, so if your not reasonably good with tools buy the Piston and liner kit, measure liner heights carefully and step them down right.
