    Tyres Tyres Tyres

New poster! (less than 10 posts)

can someone tell me the correct size tyres i should have on the standard speedline wheels, as i have 195/55/13's pirelli p600 rubber at the mo and need some new ones but the several garages i spoke to are havin trouble finding ANY replacements, like the have found only one type, a uniroyal at £50 which is not bad but i was wondering if maybe i have the wrong size fitted already?

    Any suggestion welcomed

    Lee

came with 195/55r13 michelin mxv's from new but you cant get the michelins anymore, no other size from new
Think only uniroyal make that size now, not aware of anything else that used that size

Uniroyal are the only 195-55-13 left

The most common size that people go for is 185-60-13......quite alot to choose from in that size

    Re: Tyres Tyres Tyres

i just got some new uniroyals 195/55 r13 on my ph1 gtt, cos me £55 each including fitting.
interestingly, they were made this year! - so the rubber is lovely and fresh! -the date stamp on the side is '0508' - made in romania i think!

thanks for the help all, im gettin the uniroyal fitted friday for 50 squids so not to bad, if i had gone for another size i would have had to replace the one on the other side that that was fine, maybe a spare set of rims with R888's on em would not go amiss tho as it seems people have a bit of a fetish for em .........................mmmmmmmmmm but then they do look good

I wouldn't. Your increasing the tyre wall height and reducing the contact area to the road. Still if thats all there is...........

    Re: Tyres Tyres Tyres

your increasing the tyrewall height but on a tyre that grips like a 205 and is only 185 wide, and has less wall movement than a 45 series tyre....

best of all worlds...only downer is 2000 miles with trackday use on the fronts, LOL...no idea why....

can still lift a wheel in the wet....can't say fairer than that....LOL....

torrential rain is bad on ANY tyre if your silly with the loud pedal...never had any problem on them rain or shine

I've not taken tyre temps but if you're planning on using it on track you might want to get the larger of the two tyres (the 195 rather than the 185) if you're planning on running R888s, the softer compound will mean they heat up quicker. Shouldn't make any difference for road use though.
