    cutting out.

    Im trying to set up the fueling after putting in saab reds and a t28. I have made a hole in the inlet pipe (may be a bit close to the maf) and it idles fine but as soon as i rev the engine it will die you can keep it alive with very slight blips of the throttle getting smaller and smaller. Is the a rough starting point someone could suggest? What does the maf want to be set at? I have a 32mm hole in the inlet. I havnt been able to see how its fueling on boost as its a nightmare to drive so i wanted a rough base so i can take it out for a run and sort it

    Probably the hole being so close to the back of the maf!
    try again with it as far away as possible. Should just be using your afr to adjust the afm at idle.

    was thinking that but i dont have much choice. il boge it to see if it makes any difference May have to move header tank if it works cheers bud.

    Got the bypass hole further awat from the maf but its still only about 5" away. what sort of distance does everyone else have the hole? Got it idling nicely and I can rev it gently and it wont stall but if I rev it to 2k and let off qiickly it will die. Also if I have it idling nicely then rev it and it dosnt die the fueling will be all over the place Has anyone else had this prob or is it just me

    Remember how crude this method is. Have you tried running without the filter, maybe causing a bit of restriction.

    Tried with filter on and off. Havnt taken it for a run yet but it is drivable now so il take it for a drive and report back

    love that clip. yep it defo needs a branching. Wish I had stuck with the t2/25 now Im sure it will be worth it in the end tho

    No that would not cause this Would it? Sure its just a case of sorting the bypass now needs to be bigger atm so iltry it and see.

    sorted the cutting out, moved the filter and maf to other side of the bay so the hole is no where near the maf seems to have sorted it. i have made a few holes in the inlet hose but it is still too rich so the holes need to be bigger. When i put my foot down and try to get some boost it pops and bangs and feels like it hits a wall Im guessing this is due to it being too rich but if i slowly press the throttle it isnt too bad but will still do it but takes longer to do it. Does this sound like its just too rich to you guys or something else?

    went out for a drive last nite to sort out the fueling. Its running a lot better now getting 1bar of boost but will be upping that a bit as its still a bit rich at wot and I want more boost The prob I have is its very rich at part throttle. Can this be adjusted with the maf or is that for just at idle? If so would dropping the fuel pressure help? Im happy with full throttle as it completly fcuks o ff but I do need a new clutch
    now Whats the best clutch to go for? I have the 215mm flywheel and a standard b18ft clutch but it looks like I need something stronger

    Looks like your going to need to move up to at least a paddle friction plate matey or a full paddle

    my wiring was a piece of piss compared to what steve is doing. im also thinking paddle, anyone know where is a good place to get one? you will have it done in no time steve and wonder why you didnt do it sooner if its anything like the b18ft

    Nope still got probs. Havnt looked at the car since last time tbh as ive been busy, best pull my finger out and get it sorted. Can anyone tell me where the standard place is for the reg to take the vac/pressure hose is it by the tb?

    Mine is on the fuel rail at the end, throttle body side gary.

    Basicly atm I have it to a take off from the tb (after the butterfly so plenum side) as thats where I thought it was as standard. But I thought this may be causing me probs as its to near the tb so was going to move it to a take off on the orher side of the plenum, but if it is normally by the tb then it should be fine. If that makes sense

    I doubt it will make any difference moving it from one end of the plenium to the other at all after the TB. It's more than likely a problem with your injectors just being to big and throwing to much fuel in (if you had standalone you could sort the injector flow out) even after all the bodges that need doing with the maf and the hole that needs being put in the pipe after the maf just to fall it.

    Get some smaller injectors flowing injectors, what do the other volvo boys use???

    I have some R21 turbo intectors if they are any good for you, they are low impedance & should fuel for 220 bhp I would have thought??

    Think the volvo are quite High impodence something like 15ohms or something along those lines

    na no way near big enough. Was running lean with a t2/25 at 18psi. Im looking at running more like 25psi ish

    So did you try increasing the fuel pressure on the standard ones? but i spose if you want to run more boost than that and they were already on the limit only option is to go bigger.

    Yep and was using a rising rate reg as well. Standard ones can only do 15psi bit the rising rate reg did 18psi.
