why not just replace the relay bud? renault will supply one, or if you've got some savvy a normal on off 30amp 4 pin relay will do the job, muck less agro than fitting a switch and associated wiring, and also removes the need for a new headgasket if you fall asleep in traffic without it on.
i would just replace the rely, although mine is just on a switch inside the car.
i just took a live from the battery to a switch in the dash then from the swith to the fan easy
Thanks buddy
The relay is abit doddy for some reason, its the wiring I think ,sometime had to mess with the wiring, to get fan to come on, so want to fit a swithch aswell as replacing relay, so if relay plays up can flick the switch on
i've found these pages pretty handy. read controlling fans 1

Thanks buddy,
That will make life alot easyer, add that one to my favovites.
i have mine wired to a switch mate just make sure the fan is turning to the left so it cools if it goes to the right it will still overheat
Quick question, why do you want it on the switch ?
If the entire cooling system is operating as well as it can, there is no need for a fan switch.
is always good as a back up incase it doesnt kick in on its own, seen this conversation loads, at the end of the day it doesnt do no harm in having a switch , where if you didnt and the fan didnt kick in, you'd over heat
Carry a spare relay
may as well just chuck a spare engine in the boot for safe measure as well
hmm...next time, i might just do that
