    F7P/R engines

I have found an engine with most of the parts I need to fit it to my car (engine loom, mounts, alt & starter), the only part missing is the head & poss some hoses, can I use a different head from another engine like the 2l ?

There isn't much info in the F-series section on exactly what I need, a few people have sent me PM's on most of the parts( which I'm greatful for), is it best to buy the whole donor car or can I do it the way I'm going above ?? Bear in mind I will be rebuilding to turbo spec & it will be on adaptronic.

.... I have had a look for a 19 or valver but there aren't any near or they are expensive since I will be just ripping it apart.

i know where there is an f7p in good condition in scrappy near me.

If your using an adaptronic you won't need the majority the factory loom.

If you are going with the valver 1800 bottom end you could always use a willy head with bigger valves of the megane head which is bigger again on the inlet side. I would imagine the cams in the willy head would be of a higher lift aswell. Not sure which of the heads flow better though.

Definately good to go for williams valves , wouldn't both with megane head unless you want to enlarge the exhaust outlet unless going for a lot of mid range torque. Could go for megane bottom end if you find one cheap enough, same as the williams bottom end will increase the torque a lot more however how long the gearbox lasts who knows.

Maybe some adjustable cam pullys would be handy Steve. For gaining the best set up.

Standard cams are fine for what you are after, unless you want to start chasing scoff for times.

    Re: F7P/R engines

i went with some mild pipercams as the were cheap, but as said o.e cams would be up to the job with a turbo conversion, catcams do a set of turbo cams for the f7 (high lift /very little duration ,but a lot of money
