This is how it looked when i bought it back in 2004,
the wheels on it were 17" fox 5 spokes that caught the arches and were very buckled, so i bought these wolfrace ones , also it had a bodged oil cooler stuck on with jubilee clips wich dropped the oil all over the place after about 700 miles

    ebay m8

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/RENAULT-5-GT-T...item3a5faec44a

comes with all fittings attached flared ends / measured to lengh , , would be cheaper if you bought the pipe and ends yourself ,but for ease and convenience this is best

was going to ask why the colour change but i'm guessing after seeing the repair work it would need a full respray so might as well have the car the same colour inside and out including the engine bay.

are you keeping the bodykit or going oe?

ref body kit that ktec bumper came off ages ago and replaced with oe although i have cut a large section out of it new . also replaced oe mirrors and got rid of bad boy bonnet , i liked the bonnet but was rusting through anyway.

Hi Dan, looking good! I have loads of sets of rear quarter windows, don't want alot for them, they are getting in the way if you get stuck.

    Cheers

Can't you just pull the tint off and give it a wipe over with thinners?

I only say this as I sold my tinted windows and replaced them with a set I had in the shed from another car, I had them re etched with the wrong number blanked out, didn't bother me until I had to explain it to a sharp eyed police man who thought I'd stolen my own car.

I'm gonna replace my windows again if I can find a set without the security marking. The original tinted windows got smashed when the lad I sold them to barel rolled his 5 through a hedge into a field

never thought of that tbh seems like a pain in the ass of a job , especialy if it goes wrong and i end up with crap windows and not able to get anymore .
Then again there have been loads of jobs that i thought would be a pain in the hoop to do (drilling hinges) but turned out better than expected ,

Re: Project Beast , return to Tungy

    Had a nightmare today,
i went to pick the car up from the garage that took glass and doors out and did some welding on windscreen surround and boot floor and replaced front screen rubers , they also transported the car on a trailer (rented from a scrap yard near by)300 meters down the road to spray shop and back .

now heres the shock , i was expecting about 600euro max ,, nah try 1500 , got him to 1200 cash , but i nearly died, 20 hours labour ,
ive had to borrow half of it off my mum (lmao) otherwise id be skint over crimbo .

ill hopefully collect it tomorrow afternoon if i can

Re: Project Beast , return to Tungy

all fitted back together now , its not left my single garage yet for a photo as its snowing and its not fitted with winter tires . toyo proxes not very good on snow at all .
will have to come out tomorrow though for its yearly test so ill get some then , ill also take for a quick burn depending on the roads to show it off .

i decided to spray the small bonnet stay holder catch thingy in black as it was rusty , i did it away from the car but ive managed to get black spots on the bonnet wing and headlight ,
is there any easy ways of removing it ? it picks off but i dont wanna ruin my new paint by scratching it after spending 3000 euro

Will a machine polish not get the marks out.

As for the windows its dead easy to remove, pull off, scrape the excess glue off with a Stanley blade or preferably those blades people use to chop charlie with then a rub over with tar & glue remover, dead easy honest.

    Lets see some pictures to

been for a rolling road test today .

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G1PIEokaIF4

    sorry for crap iphone video.

145.8 bhp , 198.9 Nm at 14psi not sure what 198.9Nm is a guess torque.

im not sure what the results mean tbh if they are good or bad , i think the bhp is a pretty fair figure and im happy with it (for now).

Bit sad getting the lowest bhp out of 12-15 cars. .
