    Small update
Changing my carb lobster to a GTTuning gas flowed jobbie.
I had a go at metal polishing it with a cheap kit you use with a cordless drill, i think it came out really well

    Not quite above

The engine doesn't breathe heavy at all an i run the o.e heatshield which pretty much covers all the hot side anyways.
Ideally in the future i'd like to loose the perc fan an go rocker to bottom of o.e breather pot, top of o.e breather pot to a catch tank located in the perc fan space.
Think ive seen that set up on Brigsy' van?

Can't help but think gold or silver for the wheels, maybe with some lip work would look great.

some interesting bits on yours, what is the doris mod (i should do a search)? also will like to see how you simplify the fpr pipes as this is something i would like to do.

A member on here Russell Thorpe has a competition car called "Doris"
He found that by removing the small pipe that connects to the acc pump diaphram from the fpr reference pipe that it cured his hesitation.
Im doing it just to remove one more pipe and tidy up the last remaining o.e pipes drivers side of my carb.
As for simplifying my fpr pipes, the above mod removes one from the carb and one off the double t, the other pipe on the double t is for the o.e boost gauge.
Ive purchased a new single T piece and im going to mount this a little lower behind the carb so you cant see it, then plumb in the the above mentioned o.e gauge.
Then just planning on running one single red silicone line to the carb top with no visiable t pieces or other pipes off the fpr.

It would be alot easier to lose the o.e boost gauge, but im a fussy bugger

Quite. No way you can lose the OE boost gauge. Watching it move about is singularly the best thing about owning a GTT.

    Indeed

Especially when it's bouncing at the end of the gauge

    Re: Back from Respray

In all honesty it has become a little static! i am still buying parts for it etc but time is the main issue! or lack of!

The garage is leaking and it has an asbestos roof so I am a little miffed as to what to do with it. Not really a job I want to try in this weather. So I have covered the 5 up with a car cover and just left it for the moment. Plus I have installed a thermostat and a heater in the garage to try and stop the damp.....

Add to this doing every other week on standby with work and you can see why its all stopped at the moment

Definetly need to find a few days to have a muck about with it and get it sent off for a respray. Just need to finish a little bit more welding, put the underseal on and sort out how i am going to fix the sagging doors......

Looking at the pics of yours keeps me motivated tbh

    Re: Back from Respray

    Jobs done today;

    Alloy breather pot fitted.
    Doris mod done.
    FPR piping modified.

Had a quick drive up to the garage for some fuel and couldnt resist a photo in the winter sun, needs a clean tho as she's a bit dusty and the wheels are covered in brake dust.

It has one hose to the carb top, but yeah it t's off to the boost gauge.
Its all tucked up behind the perc fan pipe out of sight.
