    Making a hybrid??

im in the process of buying a b18ft t2 unit off haz as my old one is shot, i want to upgrade the t2 turbo and from what ive read there is no strait swap upgrade, so, if i buy the t2 can i get a t25 compressor housing and the t25 compressor wheel and bolt it staight onto the t2 core and shaft as i heard they were the same??see the thing is i want to retain the original volvo exhaust housing and downpipe. Any help appreciated. Tim

As soon as you take the turbo apart i.e. wheels, shafts etc... you are taking it our of balance and prob won't last long.

Prob easier and cheaper just to buy a full T25 and have your volvo exhaust housing machined out to take the t25 exhaust wheel.

prob best speaking with Haz he has been around a fair bit of time and can prob recomend turbo and mods for the volvo lump

machining turbines is a precision job, and for a turbo specialist to do. I think you'd be better just making a new downpipe than going to that trouble.

I'm pretty sure you won't find a t25 with the same oil and water union fittings, so be prepared to have a new oil feed line made and to modify the oil return.

The standard volvo turbo water unions and oil return can be adapted to fit the t25/t28's. . You just need to make a downpipe, oil feed, source the right turbo oil feed adapter, think about fitting an inline filter, possible modification of the water pipe that comes out of the head, and adapt your exhaust system to accept the downpipe.

yeh, ive spoke to d-dave tonight as ive picked the turbines up off him, smashing bloke by the way, he says hes got a oil feed pipe and adapter for t28,so when funds permit thats one part ticked off the list, idea of a t25 has been swapped for t28 now, lol, apparently 200sx t28's are an easy fitment oil pipes and water pipes wise, hardest bit being the fabrication of the elbow and downpipe but d-daves gonna help me out with that one. sounds like you lads have a right laugh.
