& on to the next little problem.....

There seems to be something missing from the engine, something to do with the oil.... something that James removed & forgot to remind me about
I will get this bloody car running again soon
    Guesses on a postcard...

This car is fecking jinxed I'm sure of it
Next problem is the gearbox is fooked. I reckon the input shaft bearing as it goes when you depress the clutch... like if the release bearing is shot, it's not though as 1 it's brand new & 2 it's deffo coming from the end of the box, not the clutch area
It will drive, just not sure how long it would last..
Can the box be removed without the lump ?

    Yes it can mate

Both shafts off, starter off, turbo off with all pipework around it, both gearbox mount brackets off box, remove the small bar from subframe to chassis leg, then slip box off engine and rotate it alittle to pull it out the top.

I done one 2 weekends ago and had it changed in 2 1/2hrs so its not too long to do.

Drive it until it self destructs. Almost every gtt box i have owned has had the death rattle on idle & has never caused a problem.

Cheers Mark, thats good to know....
I was planning to drive it a bit & see what happened Brigsy so you made me feel a bit better about that, lol..
I think I'll drop all the fluids this week & put some fresh in... while it's up on stands...
Don't think this car wants to be on the road...
Also, how much does the engine breathe through the rocker, I can't remember..
