Nice work on the fog light ducts. What's the thinking behind them? i.e. what are you trying to cool?

Do they have/need anything on the back end of them to route the air round the back of the tyre to the brakes? Or are they as is? I always wondered how efficient they were.

    Re: my gtt

I've heard of them causing under steer issues at high speed and blowing arch liners out as well, I guess it's down to how well they're angled that matters, as in, do they actually hit the disc/caliper and how much air they direct. Over cooling race pads is just as bad as over heating them.

Just use a Clio PAS rack and run the pipes...

    Much easier...!

Had to chop and extend cooler so pipes go by side of the rad...

Did you put a divider plate in between the inlet/outlet pipe of the cooler mate?

Ok so got my custom shafts today... gtt length with clio splined ends.. all seem well apart from 1. They look skinny! And its worrying me slightly with power il be running and 2. Im
Now ****ed as cant fit the bearing for the passenger side gaiter that goes to the box... Got to give him a call tomorrow to sort it out.

Times like these spending money and getting no where piss me off and make me not wanna be arsed... stressful small problems!

**** the shafts to thin compared to the oe bearing size, its asif he should of left it fat all the way along, if that makes sense****

Inlet manifold looks very tidy mate, nice work. Are there velocity stacks at the end of the runners?

I'd be interested in the repro GTX engine mount should that work out. Having difficulty tracking one down.

    Re: my gtt

Sounds great, and your fabrication skills are clearly top notch. When planning my own custom inlet, a concern was that the angle the inlet enters the head is about, say -15 degrees off centre. Depending on the length of the runners, this could make the plenum chamber interfere with the mounting of the alternator. I've not finalised my measurements, but it seems without introducing a positive exit angle, the runners are limited to about 50mm. I'll get some pics that will hopefully make this more clear.

    Anyway, top work mate

A word of warning fella, I had a gearbox where the circlip had even welded, my f7r running 280bhp shattered the circlip resulting in the diff popping out and mashing the plant and sun wheels .

I'd use a bolted in reinforcing plate over welding everytime from now on.

I should think you will be able to fella, I'll be honest mate, a jb3 or even a jc5 isn't going to last forever with 300 + ft lb pumping through it and I don't think the clutch will last long either.

I'll eventually being changing to a vag 02m 6 speed box

Your fabrication work looks great as well.

Just dusted off my welder this year with my vw camper resto. There is something satisfying about home grown parts.
