    timing chain cover nightmare

ok , started to tackle what should of been a hour job yesterday...

my timing chain cover has always leaked from the bottom right hand side.. i took it off to find the bottom right hand side bolt was snapped, the thread is about 5mm within the block..

task today is to try and drop the engine off one of its mounts to get enough room to get a drill in at it..

    Drill a pilot hole,

    and use an easy out..

I really hope its works, i hate this kind of stuff,

i have never got an easy out to work so dont get your hopes up.. spend more time getting the pilot hole dead center and as straight down the middle of the snapped bolt as possible..

id say you'd have more luck drilling it straight out and tapping it for a larger bolt..

Don't use an easy-out....use an old Torx bit...works for me.

just came back on to see them messages however i do need to say the easy out worked..

I dropped the engine slightly, very slowly drilled a hole clean down the centre, then i tapped the easy out right the way in and turned, no joy, it just cut away and pulled out swarf... i tried again.. and it went, such a buzz to see the threads pulling there way out
