More smilies?

I've checked the 'website feedback' section for a similar request and there doesn't seem to be one....

There are a ton of great smilies out there that would be ace to have available. In fact we're short even compared to the old site at the moment.

Is there any technical, space or 'a.n.other' reasons why we can't have a few more?

I know it's possible to grab them from elsewhere on the internet but that's not nearly as convenient as having them clickable on the side of the web page.

What's the state of play guys?

Yeah I guess this is pretty subjective. I'm not keen on any of those really. Lol. The dickhead one is quite funny.

For me, smilies should be just that, small, simple, regular, subtle alterations to the basic aciiiid face. More of the same of what we already have is my vote. A way to convey emotions rather than pretty/mess up posts for the sake of it.

I think you are right scoff. Some look clever/complicated for the hell of it and thus render themselves trashy.

a suggested keystroke would help me too. They need to be a solid word, no space's. I can make those up if need be. links to the gif's that you and others would like is what I need ofcourse

I can increase the number that are visable in the post window if you think that'll help.

by the time we add more I think it might get a bit slow and clunky if all 40 or more have to load up on the page each time you want to post.

I'd cut and copied about 50 useful smilie gifs into the msg window from various different sites and then lost them all, lol.

For some reason, the ones I picked up from the following link have all decided to cock up. They were ok for a while and now don't appear in the thread. Livid. Chris, maybe you can re-grab them from the smilie website when coding. It's obvious which ones go with which key combo:

To be fair guys this isn't really in keeping with what we've chosen in terms of the graphic. I'm sure there is something out there that conveys the same sentiment though I'll have a look around...

thanks trev some of the last ones didn't work for me either. I've saved up all of the ones that worked and found as many as I could on the french site you linked me to. there were a couple that I did not know to which ones you were refering but I can add odd ones here and there at a later date.
