    Anybody work for sky tv

    My hd box has just died, wont come out of standby... just sits buzzing with a red light on...

    Basicly could anybody who works as an installer or what ever pm me, i'll cross your palm with gold for a new cheap box.

    Hi JRP, ours did that last night. Couldn't get i to come ou of standby. Give them a call they can talk you through resettng the box takes about 6 mins pressing and holdingdown certain buttons. Ours is nowup and running.

    Just did a reset, using the back up function... power off then hold down backup... then power it up..


    Its started to reboot then the box exploded, and smoke came out.... think my power suply unit has poofed up

    when this kinda thing happened they wanted money for a new box so we said get f**ked were off to ntl or now virgin.. hold on we have a box here we'll get sent out to you

    people trying it lately haven't have the same luck, one guy pretty much said bye bye, dont let the door hit you on the ar5e as you leave... they made a deal in the end getting upgraded to hd making it worth while..

    not sure if you have them by the balls but always worth a shot..

    Just called Sky to cancel my packege, getting full HD package, HD box,nulti room Sky + ,estandard multi room, all sports & movies for £55, and no one off fee's and new box's alround :-) fitted this friday, just in time for the world cup.

    i heard that they purposely use certain components that will burn out after a couple of years, so you have to buy a new box if the warranty is up. And if you want to extend the warranty, they sting you in the wallet for that too.

    that sounds good, im very tempted to try and swing something like that, or just bugger off to virgin as there deals are that good.. if i lay it on thick i think i could be in with a chance, otherwise we are tempted to walk, bad weather = no sky..

    If you've got a Thompson HD box the power supply will burn up in the first year or two.

    m sky + went funny a few days ago, litteraly just called them and my warranty runs out in a few days, that was lucky.
