traction bars are always in place but traction control failed on the day so launching was a bit harder the old fashioned way.

Whats the next stage then? get your launch control working properly and give it another blast?

p.s ive got some good vids of scoffs runs, from very close up ( i was stood behind the car on the track ) but there in some silly .mod format that youtube doesnt want to take, anyone know how to change them? (its from a jvc everio camcorder) i found a converter online, but it puts a silly watermark over the vids

I'll hold you to that beer you know

without wishing to sound overly optimistic (and those that know me properly will know that I am the least optimistic person you're ever likely to meet!!) but 10.6 for the car's terminal speeds is pretty piss poor. I was a bit annoyed at myself - I hadn't driven the strip for 8 months and it was like I'd forgotten how. The runs are very poor technically as any real racer who watches the video's will be quick to spot. First time out, new engine and a new race series to get my head around so decided to cut myself a little slack!

As you said you havnt been out for a while so everyone gets rusty, specaily jumping right into a race series.. To me the car still can improve that ET as said before in PM, still doesnt look like its in peak power much at all up to 1/8, your 3rd gear is fooking insane tho..... your a dead man walking keep test mapping that on the road whats that 4th gear pull you say....

What are the dates of the series your in Chris? I think I really have to see this car in action. We'll need an RTOC/Scoff supporters section reserved in the grandstand I think.

Just watched the vid's - Holy mother of Jesus, that fecking RIPS!

Chris, you're messing up my head something rotten with your F-series tuning, as I'm swaying even more towards outing the Jap taxi, buying a 172/182, cheeky turbo conversion, and having fun on track in that instead. God damn you!

The key is the gearbox, that always was, and still is the major hurdle to overcome. Scoff might be interested in swapping the Tokyo Taxi for a gearbox conversion....

Mart, in the wider Clio shell you could shuv in any VW gearbox you like - one of the newer 6 speed units which are equally as robust and don't have the cruddy synchromesh setup that my older o2j transmission has. Would love to see you do something a bit off the wall like that

it would be interesting to compare some slips scoff (not ours, no comparision lol)
but we raced the TDI north car on 1 race, he ran 10.5 i think, so close to your ET, but with 138mph, he also pulled 1.6x 60ft as you do, but i did notice he was at 114mph 1/8th`s, you can compare the slip in full if you want it, might find some usefull data
