i know the gtt starter works on the earlier small flywheel version but will it still work on the later 215mm flywheel version? im still using the gtt gearbox so i know it physicaly fits but dose the drive gear still engage??

    Re: starter motor

From experience on my 172 conversion which has the 215mm flywheel I will say no the gtt starter will not engage the flywheel at all but if you had the 200mm flywheel then yes it would work. You need an f series starter of any engine with 215mm flywheel.

nope, earlier flywheels and gtt match with summit like 9 teeth on the starter, later with 172's, 16v's etc with summit like 10 teeth.
