    RTOC @ pod SE convoy

As Kris has got the ball rolling i'll start a convoy this end and poss meet somewhere in the middle and all cruise up togther.
If everyone interested puts there name down we can arrange a meeting place and time, will prob want to get at pod for the start of the day so will be leaving early but as say can arrange times nearer the day.

Are we going to do it like the old days? Via South Mimms and Todington?

I'd love to do a convoy again, if my Jap crap's allowed to show you all up

The only problem for me could be the time. The M25 traffic from mine, past Heathrow is solid every day, from 0600-0830

I think a final meet up at Toddington will prob be the best place as its more of a direct route for most people and some (including me) could divert alittle to meet up with everyone.

Don't worry, we'll be in Jap crap too if he ever finishes building the damn engine.

It won't be done in time now, I know that for sure. If I do sort out this violent missfire at 4k rpm I'll turn the boost back up and see what the smokey engine will do If we're not there in the 200, we'll be there in something else.

To be fair, he's actually waiting on someone else doing work on the engine before he can build it. The fact that dumbo up there forgot to drop off half the parts the first time we went there, MIGHT have just delayed it a little

Hang on, I only forgot the crank pulley and clutch cover bolts, which I had to make myself in the end :stickout:. I thought i'd have the bottom end assembley back by now, but I haven't had the call yet.

Hows 7:30am meeting at Toddington sound to everyone, once we've all met up leave there about 8am to get there just before 9am.

Sure we could play around with the meeting time to suit everyone, just thinking of some people may want to get there abit early to get there car ready for running.

    Next Question...

What's your route after Toddington?? M1 Jct 14, then up the A509??

If so it may be easier for me to meet you at Jct 14 than drive down the M1 to turn round & head back up for Toddington?

Yea, but it's much more fun to drive down, and enjoy the longer convoy time

0730 sounds good. I might be able to get past Heathrow before rush hour kicks off, just.....

Just checking out the service road for Toddington Services that comes off Junction 12 to both sides on Google maps!

Re: RTOC @ pod SE convoy

Steve - yeah i'll route will be up the M1 to junc 14 then across to the A509 and along to the Pod.

If i make it official for the time and place then, as you say Bill leaving alittle early will be good to miss all the traffic on the road.

So meeting at Toddington services at 7:30am, just so people know who to look out for i'll be in my Volkswagen Passat towing the campus.

You could work a wonder between now & then!! I had the engine out my Clio last year the day before Pod to change the clutch so I could run!

I haven't been on the M25 at that time for a long while, but going on past experience it starts to get busier at about 0630, so you 'should' be ok-ish. I'll be heading round from J9 to 21 myself. I was planning on leaving here at about 0600-0615. It's takes about 35-40 mins on a clear run from here to 21.

Adam - When did you last try going round the 25, past Heathrow, during morning rush hour?

As much as I love being in my car, I don't fancy sitting in traffic, burning fuel at the rate of 1 litre per 5 minutes on idle

Although in all fairness, me leaving mine at 0600 (I'm always late, so make it 0615 ) I'll probably be going past your place at about the time you're leaving

I've never driven on the M25 in the morning, i've been stuck on it more than enough times in evening rush hour though...

Hmm, maybe me and the DfourWNO will leave a bit earlier then.

I used to drive the other way on the M25 at 0630 every morning on my way home from work, and it was always getting busy going clockwise

That was a couple of years ago, but if anything it's bound to have gotten worse, not better.

Yep, we've got to give those 'Frenchies' something to chase
