Hi,
My names Lewis, I'm 19 and from Southend,
I have always wanted a Renault 5 ever since i was like 16 and after putting up with a Ford Ka for the last 2 1/2 years i finally decided it was enough so after looking for a few months i finally found one that ticked all the boxes. So last saturday i made my way 280 miles up to Durham to take a look at hez's black Reanult 5 GT Turbo (G898 BAJ) i know a few other member are previous owners, well i got there and was really pleased with it looked lovely as he had just pulled it out the garage and was polishing it so had look over it and took it for a test drive and was really pleased with it so i came away with it. After a long drive home involving 2 tow trucks i finally made it home at about 3.30am, Still unsure of what the cause of the problem was but i got it running again the next day and it seemed to be ok like nothing had happend still not running spot on though so I'm going to get it booked into my rolling road (Atspeed) and just see what they think of the car. Going to get a project thread made up so will keep you all updated.

Hi thanks, yer alot of people seemed to have seen it, it was up for sale for quite a while, the previous owner did say he had quite alot of of interest in it.

I Live in Hockley, owned a number of GT's in the last 10 years and wouldn't mind popping round if you need any help with anything

ATSPEED are good, not sure on Solex carb tweeking though

Haha, thanks hope not, more annoying though was the nob of a tow truck driver that wanted to ram it up the back of his truck and completly wrecking my front bumper and i said i don't think so, so spent half an hour taken the front bumper all off, then got charged for time wasting.

The AA tried that with me once, luckily there was 4x2 timbers to drive over to clear the front bumper

Hi thanks ill keep that in mind I'm only in Great Wakering, need to sort this boosting problem out though but I'm hoping just a good set up and that should be fine, well Hez was planing on taken it there, i have been recommend by so many people to go there and on the website it says that they are "the number one place in the south east of England for carburettor tuning" ill see what they say when i book it in though.

This was a green flag contractor, you was lucky. I just about got him to lend me a spanner and nothing else and i said to my dad if i can not get this off then I'm leaving it here and coming back with a trailer in the morning.

No harm in at least getting it on there to read the AFR's, they're a good RR in facilities just don't think they've worked on many GT Turbos

Ill be sorting one out beginning of next month. More than likely chelmsford way as central to all people in essex and easy enough to get to from all directions.

Ahh right, yer my mate used to own like a Renault 5 with flip paint show cage and massive front mount and i remember going out with him one night down lakeside and meeting a bloke called dave that owned a 5 but was out in his CRX as it was his daily.

So had the car couple of months now really got used to driving it and fixed most of the little problems i have had with it, Can't make National day as I'm on holiday but hopefully going to Trax if anybody else is going to be there and the car should be on a stand.

Had a few problems with it and currently swapping the engines over. Im going to make a winter project out off it, as there is so much i wont to do with the car so I will get a project thread mad up for this one.
