Phase 1 - looking for mechanic/enthusiast for restoration work

    Hi guys,

im new to the site. I have purchased a Silver Phase 1 GT Turbo with a standard exterior and slightly modified engine.

I am looking for some help if anyone can recommend for the following work -

    Full suspension overhaul
    Rear bean rebuild
    New wishbones
    replace bushes

    Brakes
complete overhaul including new caliper a and brake lines.

    Engine
    General advise

I plan on trying to make a very nice example out of the car if possible, any help would be appreciated as I'm struggling.

    Thanks

    Nathan

Welcome along. Sounds cool. Get some pics up.

Take one thing at a time and you'll get there.

Welcome good sir! Best club for the gt turbo!

Shame your not local, as I've started to take on some r5 work now that I have at least one car out the way.

Can't help on the history of this car, sorry.

Also, to answer your PM, I don't know anyone local any more who works on GTT's. Ian Nixon who ran EuroParts in Stoke was the best but he packed up ages ago. I can't recommend Prima Racing in Nottingham.

If Matt's too far away I'd look to ask the following either if they were interested, or whether they know someone who would be:

    Sparkie: https://www.rtoc.org/boards/member.php?27-Sparkie
    MarkeyMark: https://www.rtoc.org/boards/member.ph...rkey-Mark-(BD)
    Scoff: https://www.rtoc.org/boards/member.php?6-Scoff

Btw, I'm over to Burton quite a lot as my Mrs is from there. Whereabouts are you? Maybe I could pop over and see the car at some point

I'm in Anslow? drop me a message and pop in for a coffee, I have a couple of interesting cars you might like to see being a fellow petrol head.

Distance doesn't bother me, I will see if Matt comes back to me, if not ill message these guys.

Does Ian Nixon not do any work even from home, does anyone know how to contact him? I remember going to his place years ago, he did some great work.

    Thanks for your help Trev.

Cool. I'll arrange by PM to pop over one time. The g/f's parents are in Rolleston.

Hi Nathan, awesome looking phase 1!

On reflection and looking at what I have on I have one to finish and one to finish and one to start which needs more work than i thought! So I wouldn't be able to take it on for a few months as I only do stuff weekends and the odd evening. If you get stuck though please send me a pm as I might be able to help in some way.

    Matt
