    big problem

    hi guys

well after 3 day of the 5 being road bound it went pop.
    i was in 5th at 5500rpm
    afr's at 12
    water temp at 70 degrees
    oil pressure at 5 bar

and then the headgaset let go.

uber amounts of smoke and a megga mess in the engine bay.

found a headgasket and bolts on the shelf at wag benets so striped her down
cleaned her up and put it back together, checked block and head every thing looked ok. so on it went

started it up and she fired strait away and idled ok
but ive got a very loud tapping from the top end.

could i have bent a valve through hydrolick lock?
why did the head gasket go?

i only have 2 possible reasons. head lift or **** gasket

    what u rekon

    Hi Dave

From experience those engines don't tolerate a lot of timing at WOT. Did your mapper listen for det ? If you can somehow send me your ignition map I'll compare it with some of the B18FT ones I've done.

    wouldn't have happened with a c1j

i cant extract the map from my ecu on my laptop fella as its not got a serial port.
altho i could do it on the pc at home i guess. as i have the cable

there were no sign's of det to the pistons or the head..

just spoke to maper on the fone he said theres not alot of ignition in it but i dont understand it any way lol
ill see what i can do and send it over
