    Scenic ECU Query

The wifes 04 Scenic DCI started playing up so took it to my local mechanic. He can get into the ECU using OBD but doesnt get any specific error codes just unspecified errors. He has been told its also possible to connect to the ECU using the Renault fault code reader/protocol and he may get some more specific error codes. Anyone know if this is correct, all this ECU business is a bit too new for me.

    Thanks in advance.

all emision codes have to be available p***** most scanners should tell you what codes are stored but these are only a guide to what sensors voltages are out of paramaters. Whats the car doing? what were the code numbers?

you need something specific to read your car properly - EOBD won't read the codes you need. I'd suggest finding a mechanic with a DEC superscan, or maybe an Actia Access.
