21 turbo engine into 5 gt turbo

now please dont jump down my neck on this guys iv done a search and couldnt really find anything on this
.
what i want to know is can the 21 turbo engine be put into a 5 gt turbo or even better has it been done, i know the volvo engine is popular and the f7p but this is something id really be interested in as it has 2.0 8v (no replacement for displacement) and t3 turbo 175bhp and 199lb/ft torque as standard ,plus its injection .
now im not sure on the tuning potential of these but i should imagine its not hard to get them to 250bhp and more torque

It's been looked into before, and the general consensous was that it would be hard work to make it fit, and be of no real benefit anyway given you could fit a 172/182 engine instead (and therefore have more power straight away), and then turbo that if needs be.

21T engine is longitudinal i think, GTT is transverse.

You would have to cut bulkhead back or extend front end, not worth it for little power gain imo. Also the engine is pretty tall.

Disagree. The 21 engine is more heavier, old technology, and has nowhere near as good a v.e as the 172/182 lumps.

If you want a 2L turbo'd lump to 'drop in', have a look at Matt C's (Ringworm Tuning) 225t conversion.

that looks like a rather mad conversion i bet that goes like mad as well with that much torque coming so low down only having run 14psi as well

here is the injection conversion kit for the c1j engine has anyone gone over to this as id like to get away from the carb tuning/probs. also is the claim about there being an instant performance gain by using injection right ?

Is the f4r lighter than the 21t lump? its alloy head/block. Agreed on the 'old technology', the std injection management isnt exaclty tuneable.

would that be where aftermarket management comes in though? i had an emerald k3 on my old mg zr and that was a cracking ecu
