    Anyone got Traders Insurance?

    Is it costly?

What does it cover you for?

Are there any car traders on here?

    Re: Anyone got Traders Insurance?

I have. The level of cover varies greatly, from the most basic third party only to fully comp with trade plates on unlimited hour useage. A good company to deal with are Tradex, who will fit cover around you and what you own/wish to cover. I can add cover for whatever I buy free as long as it is declared. This includes any mods ive done. Obviously you would need legal cover added on because if you had an accident and the other person realised they could take your company to small claims court, it would cost 1000s. Hope this was helpful to a degree, although there is no straight answer to give you. Just phone them up!

    Re: Anyone got Traders Insurance?

You do indeed get no claims bonus however it is traders no claims bonus which means you can't use any personal no claims bonus towards your trade policy. Obviously any no claims you already have can be kept active (upto 2 years depending on who its with) but you MUST get a certificate from the insurer to prove that fact if you are going to let your personal insurance lapse after its renewal date. Keep that certificate safe and make copies when it comes to sending it off, they try saying they haven't received it and its a real bitch trying to get a duplicate so long after the event. Also be warned that traders insurance isnt really like a personal policy, things like windscreen cover often can't be included unless you take out full glass cover so do your homework first... I asked for a list of what can be included to be sent to me first, then picked the cover I needed that way.

Also keep swapping your traders address on logbooks then you buy cars, allways get worried for that knock at door asking why 50 cars have passed your hands over the last 12months.. unless you play by the rules.

Why has this moved in to Tech section whats tech about this.....
