Re: my 306 dirty derv project

should'nt be going over 10% thinners 5% fine, the more thinner you add the more it speeds up the evaparation time which results in the paint dulling off, other factors for dulling off are

    1 to fast a hardner
2 to higher a pressure on gun
    3 spraying in cold
4 to much heat while spraying
    5 soaking into primer
6 not allowing paint to flash of between coats
7 incorrect fan setting on gun
8 gun been held to far back from car
    9 poor air movement
10 to high of grade sanding used on primer
11 to much material on car
    12 use of aeorsal primer

i could go on and on and into detail but dont want to bore pants of you

hehe funny you say that last night we were discussing it..

    I think chances are

    Spraying in cold
to much material on the car, and for some reason my gun was playing up and wouldnt give me a wide spray pattern..

    Next time hey :P

thanks though i take all advice in

Re: my 306 dirty derv project

indeed there is that.. although it comes up quite well with a very quick flat/polish, the geezer at bodyshop used a bit of paint to do a panel this morning and has had the same problem, he seems to think its just down to the paint being cheap jawel spec bull crap, i guess you buy cheap you get cheap.. In future ill stick to standox, had no issues spraying with that stuff

you can see in this pic, i grave the corner of the roof and rear 1/4 a very quick buff and it came up ok

Little update, i finally cracked out the tigerseal and began putting the missing bits on.

Check out what i used to weigh the top of the spoiler down
