decal revamp?

hey folks, does anyone know whether renault made any alterations to the decals later on towards the end of production?

if you look at this car

and then you take a look at my car on my profile you will notice that the decals on the ebay car are much darker at the top of the decal, now the decals on my car were not originally on the car as they were bought from a french car parts specialist and they were for a white gtt

now i have a brand new set of decals which i bought from cgb and these too are alot lighter than the ones on the ebay car, infact they are exactly the same colour/tone as the ones currently on my car

did i recieve the wrong ones or did renault revamp them, cheers

Could be a trick of the light mate. Could also be that the car on Ebay has had replacement decals that were intended for a different colour GTT.

Another option is that you have the wrong ones. From what I remember and for what it's worth, the one on Ebay looks like it has the right shade of decal for a white GTT.

The last option of course is that the decals were indeed changed at some point, like you say. Perhaps not intentionally, maybe Renault swapped suppliers at some point and the replication wasn't spot on. This is the least likely option for me though.

I wasn't going to reply to this as its really difficult to say just by photo but mine, which as far as I know are original, do seem a little darker than yours and like the for sale example, sorry probably not what you want to hear.

i recall reading somewhere that the red decals changed later on so maybe the white ones changed also

dont worry mate i cant stress how mint yours looks and looks better than the one on ebay. any way is that car on ebay over priced?

theres plenty of little bits that do my head in with mine, anyways back to looking at more pictures of 5s to determined what happened lol!

Is the one on ebay overpriced? Well it won't be to whoever wins the auction but even the seller says he doesn't expect that price. Personally I think he has under estimated the cost of putting those little bits right and the price should reflect that. But what do I know, I paid more and I shall still be chucking several grand at it to sort its "little bits" :-)

Yes the later one changed. The ones for a red are well off! But they still have the sames part numbers!

if its as good as its described i guess it priced about right, there will be someone out there who is ready to pay that, if i had the money i would myself

i put mine on ebay the other week must off had a finny five minits but i was off work with a bad back so must of been the pain killer s . i wanted 4k and mines better than that on ebay and i only got offered 2200 what i thought was a real joke as my body is standard just the enjine uprated but im so glad it did not sell since then iv already got new wheels new battery tray fixed under were the try sits and orderd an uprated fuel pump .i dont think i could every part with it. before i brought my car people i spoke to on the phone when i was looking said you get addicted to them and i am .
