    modifying stethoscope

    i have recently got a stethoscope to listen for det. i need to extend the pipe is there a certain pipe to use for this? also where the best place to bolt it to i.e the end of the head as piston 1 and 4 tend to det before the 2 and 3? or where should i not bolt it to?

    it *must* be hard nylon for best results, the 6mm stuff works great. Bolt it anywhere you like but I find the cylinder head works best on C1J, maybe because of the wet liners. On non-wet liner engines either the head or the top of the block works fine.
