    Re: the story so far

    Hi there is some news,

I sold the richmod EZK and bought an already made Megasquirt computer for the b18ft!

also bought an F7R throttlebody (Direct fit ) and 315 cc injectors.

I have an question about the throttlebody, there are 3 pins on the body. Who knows their destination on the ecu?

    the ecu

    Re: the story so far

    Hi sieger

The 3 pins are 0v, 5v and TPS signal. You use a multimeter to decide which wire or which pin on the throttle pot does what.

It is a bit awkward to explain how you test it, but here goes!

1/ Set meter to ohms range, so that it can read upto 10k ohm (most pots are less than 10k ohm)

2/ Meter between each combination of wires/pins on the throttle pot until you find a pair that does not alter its resistance as the throttle is moved. IE, it'll read a fixed 5k ohm (or whatever) without altering as you move the throttle open or closed. These are your 0v and 5v wires/pins. You will need to decide which is 0v and which is 5v now. The 3rd wire (the one that gave the variable readings) is the TPS signal wire.

3/ To decide which of the wires/pins is 0v and which is 5v you need to pick ONE of those wires/pins you just found and meter between it and the 3rd wire/pin. The reading should alter as you adjust the pot open/closed.

4/ If the reading gets smaller with the throttle closed then you have selected the 0v wire/pin. If the reading gets larger with the throttle closed you have selected the 5v wire/pin.

5/ To verify you have them right, the following things should happen:
    - when you meter between 0v and TPS signal wire you should get a low ohms reading with the throttle shut and a high reading with it open.
    - when you meter between 5v and the TPS signal wire you should get a high ohms reading with the throttle shut and a low ohms reading with it open.
    - now wire them to the 0v, 5v and TPS input on your ECU.

If its an old Clio pot that has 3 wires comming out of it with a GM connector on it then (from memory!!) you have green, red and black. Black is 0v, red is 5v and green is TPS, but verify that with the test above.

Vege do a lot of remanufactered/rebuilt engines for exchange or to buy outright for most european cars.

    I'm pretty sure of that

hi , the front will be standard again later on this year.

The megasquirt is up for sale, i've got my hands on the Super Rich Mod

i don't lots of time to puzzle with the Megasquirt. The super mod is a direct replacement, with the power i am looking for.

    what is the box?

    * a EZK with a 3 bar mapsensor (1.7 bar or 25 psi max. my turbo is rated 25 psi)
    * a MAF with a potentiometer (to get the AFR right (315 cc injectors)
    * a MBC

Your going to have to use a flexible pipe between the bulkhead and the gearbox so may as well use flexi tube.
