    Couple of problems???

New poster! (less than 10 posts)

Have a couple of problems with the 5,

The cooling system is pressurising, After running for a short while the pipes get hard. Tried bleeding the system a couple of times but no joy. I havent got access to A compression test but I will sort one if necessary.

Also the tickover is higher than it normally is. only about 500 revs higher but very noticable.

Dunno if these are related but any input on either would be appreciated.

    Cheers.

pipes will get hard with pressure!!(of course not too hard)temp guage should go to 1/2 way between2nd and 3rd line.there is a pressure relief in the cap so if it is overpressurising it will start hissing!should'nt be connected to revs increase though, check that mixture screw is'nt coming out first,

No they get hard as in, too hard. I have another cap so ill try that see if it lets the pressure out. Temp sits pretty good and never overheats although the fans on a switch (since i got it) and ive never got round to changing it back. Ok ill check mixture screw tomorrow thanks.
