    Help wiring in gauges

I am wiring in some gauges, I am wondering where abouts I take a switched live from, so the gauges only function when the ignition is turning to on.

I am also wondering where abouts to take the feed from for the dash lighting so that the gauges light up when the car lights are turned on.

    All help appreciated.

just tap into the radio 12v feed, use the red wire( wire with in line fuse) and the neg to the earth point under bonnet , if you want them to light up only when lights are on, just tap live off the side lights. also if youve fitted a volt meter just double up on the fused side of the radio and it will show 12v reading.
