question is.. is there a supercharger that will fit a c1j etc engine, theres not alot of room when you include fabrication of brackets etc.
plus to fit it on a 1.1 what are you thinking man

So you'd consider dropping a different, more powerful engine into it. Will you tell the insurance? If so, a GTT engine is, put simply, your only worthwhile option. If you're not planning on telling your insurance providers, then there's no point having insurance at all (in which case you may aswell buy a GTT and just not cover it). This isn't a serious piece of advice obviously.

So, given that little scenario, it would be worth finding out what affect a GTT engine has on your Campus insurance. I'd imagine it's somewhere toward the cost of having a GTT. If it is, you may as well have a GTT eh! If it isn't, well I guess there might still be some point in doing it and you should talk to the guys on here that have already done said conversion.

Technically if u converted a camput to a GTT Replicia you may be able to talk an insurance company into saying its a "kit car" & get cheaper insurance...

Or Dizzee you could do pass plus & get cheaper insurance - I know an instructor local to you who can do a pass plus course.

    Re: supercharger for a 1.1 5

id be amazed if a modified 1.1 campus with a supercharger etc would be much less to insure than a genuine 5 gt turbo... you gotta look at the numbers mate.

Whats the cost of modding your car as it stands to do what you want, then add insurance increase.

    compaired to

sell current car, buy gtt and insure it.

You may be suprised how little a difference there is

I am 21 with a modded 5 and only 1 years no claims and paying 1100 which I don`t think is bad. My clio turbo conversion was more to insure due to the engine change but I put the clio in the garage for now and have the 5 to play with until next summer when the clio will be out

Even after 1 year.. I insured a GTT at 18 with 1 years ncb, and it cost the same as it did to insure my campus the first year.. I was a bit silly at times, but I never had an accident.

I paid £1300 when I was 19, now I get quoted £500 or less for my Raider with all the mods declared. However, I am 5 years older now.
