Love your car robbie! Cant wait to see it go this year! need mine on road soon as too
steve I doubt I will be at pod this year at event maybe for a test tune day or next year if RTOC could sort out our own pod day so you can get a lot of runs in,
I have found my new stomping ground in Ireland not quite santa pod but I should be able to teach all these jap boys in Ireland what a Renault is all about.

Sounds nuts mate! Have you tried upping the boost yet?
Outstanding work, love the car. Sounds great in the video
this a crazy car!!!
another update
had a full 3'' custom rear exit exhaust system built with full large flowing silencer fitted parallel to rear bumper, and there is no issue with the 3'' pipe hitting the bodywork or rear axle. pictures added and link of fabricator added

all good that mate! Any vids of how it sounds?
Looks tight mate! What did you have before?
Is it the same lad who made the mani?
Pretty clear you have a job again mate, progress is looking good
hello rtoc
had the car back up at scoffs last weekend and we managed to squeeze a few more ponies
with the new full 3'' exhaust system and bigger intercooler setup,
at 30psi the f7p made 585hp 410 torque
Lovely mate, told you to crack up the boost after the new head
Great thread loving the power and the sound is awesome.... much respect for these engines.
Well done Ted they are really good figures. Now time to see what it does on the strip
Awesome result mate, really!
All that effort paying off, what a machine Rob..........very very impressed!
Hopefully one day you'll cross the water and get it to a Surrey meet, then I can persuade you to take me out in it
very cool rob, now how about that gt4202 unit you know you want 850bhp
and sqs sequential dog box
Lol, you like to agitate him don't you?
When's yours finally done?
Ok, with graphs like that, that's as much power and torque as anyone needs in a FWD street-spec GTT on pump fuel. Please, it's time to stop!
wont do anymore until my workshop is built and powered up
which i'm hoping to do this year sometime
i dont agitate, just a gentle prod for more power, if i could live with lag, and could handle the rear end better, i would push for 500+bhp,
oh wait a minute..... i am might be a bit to much to ask on my gtx3071r even with a .82 turbine housing
you need lag helps you get the power down but lag on a 16v engine that your reving to 8700rpm is none-existant.
living in Ireland now cars storied in my dads haybarn at the moment but im building my own garage for the cars and work shop aswell too.
that Monaco was a mint tungsten grey 1.4 auto with power steering it was our daily driver but I wrote off a few weeks ago went into back of sprinter van at 20mph
Save the interior if it's in good nick!
Man sorry to hear that. I will buy the plastic trim bits on the rear quaters...mine fell off lol. I wiuld also take the rear bumper. Steering wheel and possibly some interior bits. If its still available.
Just realised its grey need to get to specsavers lol. Still take some parts if available. Ill send you a pm later. Thanks
I broke the car straight away all the parts are gone sorry.
just a thought, would a piper 300 cam be the next upgrade or possibly 320, help get a bit more gas flowing
Is that pic of whats left? Because the bit i need is still on there. I was imagining a future b18ft auto in a monaco. Seems an easy swap.what you think??
Wow, what a machine!
Is your turbo surging on boost in that last RR vid?
quality read up and build.
the last outing at pod retro car show I managed to break my spec r clutch don't know how but it broke pictures added.
started to get the ready for Saturday night special in September last week I fitted a new clutch along with new engine mounts that I got off JP Racing from rtoc and have to say they work great and drive with no vibrations pictures added.
now for the bad part massive engine failure on Friday I wasn't even driving the car or over reving the engine just warming the engine up in my garage and at 5000rpm the engine stopped and failed so took all the plugs out and found on number 2 cylinder it has dropped an exhaust valve straight through a piston,
reason not sure yet but I think the standard exhaust valves just cannot cope with the heat my engine makes now.
so a new rebuild over the winter with some super strong titanium valves of some sort,
regards Robbie
pictures added of the mess
That sucks! I had the same thing happen on a brand spanking new Ducati 748S I bought back in 2000. Did 500 miles over a couple of months and bang, had a valve drop straight into one cylinder. Took it back to Ducati as it was under warranty and they took 3 months to fix it. Nightmare.
Not having much luck do you? Damn, and that while not even giving it the beans
this is about the sadiest news ive had in ages, but the black weapon will be back I know
Gutted for you bud.. If anyone can sort it you can and in the new garage aswell comfy
Robbie do you just need to replace that piston and the head, or the whole lot?
Was looking at the pictures and the rest look okay?
should be okay with one new piston with rings and new set rings for the rest with a light honing of the block
new main bearing as well and full gasket head set, the cylinder could be saved but not taking any chances lucky enough i brought a spare head with me from the uk when I moved as these valvers engines are none existence over here in Ireland,
the new cylinder head will be completely rebuilt new valve guides, seats and supertech nitride valves.
one other upgrade I did before the engine went pop fitted a new anti surge housing to the garrett gt35r which has stopped the surging now before full boost pictures added new turbo housing regards robbie
Any updates ted?
Update gone for a complete new rebuild,
New re-boried block f7p,
New f7r head ported and polished by me and new supertech valves,

At last! Pretty much my favourite 5.
Should be a good 2015 for RTOC.
