Whats everyone using these days? I've always used Thixo but I don't think it's available anymore? I'm going to be in need of some soon so any recommendations? :)

i thought they changed the name to mastixo.
eitherway i just use B&Q multipurpose silicone....

That rings a bell actually? I seen to remember an alternative when I last asked (years ago) but it cost....

Atv silicone or cgb sell some stuff also ,you want it to be oil resistant ,but engine rebuild paste ?? Think you have the names mixed up for rebuild I used graphogen also

I mean the sealant used to seal sump and timing cover etc. Renault called it Thixo paste. Graphogen is used when assembling the bearings and so forth :)

not sure what ours is but it says its engineering silicone? never had any issues with it but we have with other silicones. ill have to find out what its called.

sure its been fine on my sump and chain cover(after refitting & adjusting timing)

I use mopar rtv and it's the best I've used to date on various sumps etc

I always use threebond 1215 .Not cheap but excellent stuff :agree:

I used a black silicone type sealent from work as we have a few tubes of it, so was free. Good stuff, no leaking yet. Its volvo gasket sealent, let me know if you want me to get part number

Cheers for that James. I've just bought some sealant from B&Q but that might come in handy for the future :agree:
