View Full Version : Cleaning Up Gearbox Oil

As per title, i have gearbox oil on my lovely big garage floor :sad2: :D

What's the best random cleaner/product to get this mess off my floor? And doesn't it flippin shtink :wasntme:

Chuck some sand on it and sweep it over the offending area repeatedly.

There are detergents to help bring it up. I had a slight splillage on my mums drive and I used about a ltr of a karcher pressure cleaner, worked well :)

I use tesco value kitty litter to soak any oil spills, works well and stops it smelling so bad. To lift stains I just covered it in fairy liquid and scrubbed with a stiff brush, then a blast from a pressure washer to wash it away

Anything with detergent really...it usually involves fairy some where along the line :D

I use tesco's own coke... ;) works a treat

i rubbed swarfega into the oil patch, then rinsed it off with boiling water.

neat tfr (traffic film remover) contains caustic soda.

be warned stings like f*** in an open wound lol
