Ok... been down the body shop, the guy is actualy a work horse he just dont stop until he needs to. I found out today he is 64, and has serious heart problems in 3 months he is in to have loads of parts fitted to his heart, he shouldnt be working but loves it so much he carrys on...
Any way i pointed out a few runs to him and they will be sorted.
Welding and rust work is actualy amazing, i think he made sills up from scratch for me and did them because he said the others look like they would rust. That was at no extra fee.
and he found several bits of rust i didnt find and sorted them for no extra.
Around the windscreen and windows are like new!!! hahaha i almost collapsed when i saw them.
I just hope in daylight its as good as it looks, bumpers and kit all sprayed although im leaving them off the car so i can do under arches etc with out worrying about killing the kit.
I wish id bought new doors, slight imperfections in the metal ohh well ile buy them another day... (bill shhhhhhhh)
I really like it, yeah some holes can be picked but ohh well, he done shed loads of stuff

Great pics, there's no doubt he's done a great job, but can you see yourself driving it? I'd be scared to death of getting any scratches etc on it.

What's the quality of finish like matey??
it looks awsum, 2 or 3 bits im not happy with. But he said take it away fit all the car up inside, engine etc '' your bound to scratch it or somthing'' once its running bring it back and ile put right the bits that are wrong.
+he will do a proper polish and wax on it.
Also he and the owner said in the day light ile undoubtable find more bits that aint right. so just make notes of them and they will rectify any wrong bits.

Seen the car this eve looks alot better in the flesh big up to Dave..H he and jrp have put alot of effort into the restoration project they should be pleased with the results so looking forward to seeing it running.
Its all about apreciating the welding/fabricating of the guy!!!

If you're trying to avoid engine bay scrathes, wack the engine on the subframe and bolt it in from underneath (the front end is stupidly light, I can lift it. That's unless you're super skilled in the art of lowering an engine into a car.
i have carpet etc to line the side with for that occasion
Jon the subframe has to come off anyway so would be a really good idea to do it that wayi have carpet etc to line the side with for that occasion
What why does it? i could build loads up on that. but lifting the 5 hmmm thats an epic task
You'd be suprised how light the front end is. although it's liftable by 1 man, i'd stick the engine/subframe on a couple of skateboards if you're poor, or a proper wheely board and lift the car with an engine crane and lower the shell over the running gear gently.
