I'll never forget Marts quote that summed him up perfectly...
"Boy in a mans world"
Short summary:
He was just a skinny, lying prick. People liked him right until they got screwed over by him
funny thing is 2 years if even that before, he was round asking 6ft6 how to fit a dump valve... so ive been told... how true this is well who knows.
ah well he still set a sheet hot time

Still say this is his double?
Wasn't Lloyd's car, that he built, running higher terminals than his red car too?
I also remember Lloyd's car was doing 115mph passes, just his quickest ET had the slower 111mph trap. Headwork, valves and cam timing are what made his car quicker
The only difference between the turbo's was on the comp side. Lloyd ran a Tomcat compressor wheel, which I can't remember the measurements for, and .48 comp housing. Mike was using the 60 trim T28 wheel with the .42 cover.
regardless of what people think of him......................
the facts are that he knew what he was doing with the r5
those who speak s*** about him ................. well .............. should know better.
after all he probably worked on your car lol.
dont be jealous of past masters .............. 1/4 mile means nothing.
i know who built the gearbox...
Facts? Evidently not...
BB built his original engine.
I spec'd & modified his carb.
Colin rebuilt his gearbox.
Sparkie advised him on cam choice.
CTM spec'd & partially built his 2nd engine.
In short (no pun intended), he leeched info from people off here, ran a, at the time, record-breaking 1/4 mile run, set up a 'tuning' business on the basis of that, then got caught short when it came to light that he didn't actually know that much about tuning.
His final swansong is when he ripped off an old member to the tune of £15k (although a £20k figure was banded around at the time) for an all-singing, all-dancing engine rebuild, which subsequently crashed & burnt leaving the guy with nice shiny bolt-on bits on an otherwise fecked engine.
Mike bowed out of the scene, and the guy, to my knowledge, never got a penny of his money back.
Yep, the bottom-end let go. That was after numerous attempts at trying to map it previously though. It was originally running an Adaptronic ecu, which Mike fried 2 of them in the process of simply getting the car to start & idle, then it was converted to Omex ecu which led to another series of problems.
Fair play to Chris for sticking with it. If he kept all those original bolt-on bits, he'll have a nice motor when it's eventually running.
Sorry, somebody paid 15/20k for an engine rebuild?
What was the engine? C1J?
No joke either.
then his ego was over inflated to the core by a walking cum dump, the rest as they say is "history"
Poor bloke as well as he could really drive a car and was even in Formula Renault with Lewis Hamilton and the amount of race trophies at his house and pictures of him with Coultard and Schumacher were great and he does have talent in a car.
Thats what annoyed me, he could have been a contender but got manipulated into tuning 20 year old R5s and ****ed it all up, when he should have been getting sponsership and trying to crack it on the track in the big leagues not mess about with a tuning industry for R5s that makes Fudge all money with a site as good as the RTOC
the old saying , "dont **** people off on the way up, cos on the way down you will have no one" never truer.

has any one got any pic's of chris's car with the efi?
ohh god this again!
Mike was a good lad at heart. Doubtless misguided at times and MSM turned into a farce.
The facts are:
- he could wield a spanner, working quickly and very neatly;
- he had some good ideas (or at least brought the right people and ideas together) and gave the 5 tuning scene a boot up the arse that took us from 13s territory to 11s territory;
- he could really, really pedal.
Ultimately he fell in with the wrong girl and temporarily f*cked up his life. MSM went sour and he may have been involved in some dodginess, which is really really sh1tty. Can't help but think someone slightly unsavoury was influencing him at that time.
Hopefully he is back on track now. I hope he is racing.
i never had a problem, was always happy and always well looked after... i'm sure i know people who have similar stories (to the bad ones posted) with other companies, such as BB and GDI..... best way is to do it yourself or be prepared to pay over the odds or even loose some money
dont get Martina started on GDI...
some people on here liked him some didnt , and alot of people got ripped off me 1 of them , so just delete this thread cnt stand his name , and every 1 knows the score about ms , and it will be a pointless thread with people going on about him
Who knows? But it had been about 2 years since anything interesting had happened, then all of a sudden everyone was belting around in (relatively) mega power cars. Whatever. I don't care. My car was slow before he came along, slow whilst he was around and is still slow, or more usually stationary.
Setting aside the latter day MSM bollocks, I don't get the anti-Mike thing. I really don't. Jealousy?

There was a project thread on the old forum. Although the car may have looked good on the outside, there was massive underlying problems with it. I remember Mike even telling me he was having major issues with the paint. Someone said they went to look at it when it was being built and most things were held on with cable ties
I wonder if he left masking tape in the sump too...
I don't think Mike painted Project Fraud, as I will now call it.
to be honest, pretty much all of it, the exhaust manifold was nice. In fact, apart from the exhaust manifold/exhaust I can't think of any other part I'd have wanted on my car. Actually, that's not totally true, I'd quite like the spit and polish, I just can't be bothered with that stuff.
Jealousy ??? Who would be jealous of him ??
The anti mike thing is , becuase people dnt like him thats why.
I disagree with that. I'm not going to get into the engineering side of life, because, frankly, I know foxtrot all about it relative to the likes of Andy. Mike would have contracted out (to CTM and others) all the really clever (or not so clever!) bits anyway.
.. but I saw the car up close several times during the build process and, from what I recall, it was beautifully built. Really. It had been put together carefully and very neatly and it looked, to my eyes, to be pretty awesome. Or at least very very shiny and nice. Mike had spent a lot of time on it.
Does anyone actually know what the bill was? Or the true story behind 'forging' the cheque? How far did it get with the police (remember they are pretty much obliged to investigate any accusation like this!). I remember the guy who owned the car was pretty ****ing dodgy.
