With all those renaults you got and you haven't even got a trailer
Nice one for adding it to your collection and hopefully see it this years ND
lovely little motor, great to have in the club still
I love that car, nice going Matt
Now rip that alloy fuel wotsit out of the boot, get rid of those shady Toyo stickers, and get it back to how it's supposed to look
Looks in very good condition matey! Nice one!
All praise Jesus
Nice one matey, looks the business!! Get some more piccies up in your folder toot sweet!!
Are the Toyo stickers not original fit then??
No they don't, they looking feckin gash! The same goes for that number 12 with the fancy red and green Classic Touring Car bollox! Everyone knows that Rowan Atkinson's number on that car was 50. I can't believe Matt even considered buying the car now it's been ruined
*Jealous head off*
You're right mate!!
I'm just looking at THE DRIVEN MAN now on youtube & sure enough it should say Michelin.
I'm sure the Holy one will sort it all out though, Jesus gets things right!
Thanks lads , will do billy j, bought some replica stickers for it earlier..., didnt know what number he was though, may have to do something about that , i think duncs was going about it anyhows as the other side has no number..., going to have a dig for pics of the car on the net later if i get a chance.
I've got a pretty good picture of the drivers door somewhere that I took at Thruxton in '04. I'll dig it out for you mush
Nice one buddy. Looks lovely

I havn't really been on RTOC for about 18 months, when I last used to come on here there was only 4-5 cup cars in the club - there appears to be loads now! Which is excellent. How long is it untill RTOC can full re-create the anniversary race? In an amateuer capacity of course......

Hub have a look on my post near the bottom & let us know if your coming to ND 09?
well done matt, glad youve finally got the car home......
Good darts mate Absolutely awesome to see another/all these Cup cars in the club
Thanks people for all your kind words of encouragement , im over the moon with the car..., ill do my best to look after the old beast and put it back to genuine cup spec etc, i agree it is nice to have such cars in the club where the true enthusiasim lies, its important to the preservation of these little cars, all hail the 5 and all its quirks...
congrats Jesus, lovein the cup car, all this talk on cup cars is making think, i might start looking for one myself!!
nice purchase there mate , you kept that nice and quiet
does it mean the cup car will be driven on the next track day ??
Cheers bill, good to hear the passion in your typing buddy...., ill get them sorted @ least, i may also renew some of the others , if the quality is good, ohh its like christmas has come really early........
in answer to your good self Mr. schakal , it will be out on track definetely . would be a crime not too...
You know me mate, "cup nut"
If you go renewing any of those original decals you want shooting, and i'll be the man who does it!
One of the great things about your car imho is the originality. Just about all of the coupe's were "de cup'd" after Renault switched to the Clio in 1991. Whether that be that they were converted to road cars, or that they were converted to Super Coupe spec, and they all lost their original "clothes" over the years
Luckily, due to yours "going missing" for 14 years in 1990, it's still near enough as it should be
This was a dilemma I had Bill when I decided to race mine. Do I make the changes to be competetive against a variety of cars in a championship or keep the standard look.
The changes have really helped the car when out racing and pleased with the results, its a shame had to lose the "cup car" look, especially the Barrie Williams stickers
Heres a before and after,
sure will peeps , im going around to see him on sunday, ill keep you pepole in the loop...for a moment then i sounded allmost hip..., im gonna use your link bill if thats fine buddy....
Ps , clarkey , you car looks beutifull no matter what and it still get used for what it was intended......
hey matt glad things went well with getting it back all safe etc and keeping the bonnet firmly down this time if you ever considering selling the cup car Mr bean in Mr bean's car would look gr8 you no it makes sense
Loving these cups more and more.... nice one jesus
For the attention of billy j..., are the hammerite stickers original ...., just wondering , ones on the bonnet.., ta buddy.
While i'm on this thread, here's the pics that I took at Thruxton in '04:
And a few small, low resolution ones that I found on my pc:
That's how the car should look. Finally, here's one of the man himself, "posing" with the car:

Random but I came across this..
Ahh, I was looking for that one. I've got it somewhere, but couldn't find it. I'm now trying to remember who drove the others, but I can't
Btw Hub, good to see you back on here
