So i beleave that CPLracing now has the record at 10.1@147mph in his Civic.. So 9s should be on the cards later in year with that trap.. Be good to see Andy Nics having a catch up.. I have a feeling theres going to be some fast cars this years.....

Bloody hell, is that today ? goal posts get moved further and further away.
Andy's posted a few 142mph runs, I don't think he'll catch that easilly though. I think his engine might be a bit too old skool to keep up with the Honda fraternity.
New poster! (less than 10 posts)
A guy I used to work with had his type r treved up at cpl, bloody expensive stuff! the exhaust was around a thousand quid. He only had, cams, hondata ecu, airfilter ect, can remember how much power it had, but was far too loud for my liking, usual jap noise.
But he was always up there as had problems with the clutch they fitted, top people sorted it out no extra cost, and the guy was telling me they were trying to talk him into having his car turbo'd or supercharged as they were devolping kits, and chasing 1/4 mile times, but he sold the car in the end, lost **** loads on it! It was a brand new type r, with afew grand of extras, then he spent another 8k on it, didnt see any of that back!
No feb that time was done, chap at CPL seems a nice guy, sorting us out with hondata and RC`s and seemed interested in our project and very helpful. He never goes on the yank sites to see what others do with there cars over there as the k20s are pushing huge hp and times to match which makes his times look slow.. Hes just built and tested as he goes to his own taste.. Dont know his spec but i know his cars on 1600cc injectors
When you consider the k20 makes 200hp without any boost at all then 400hp sounds pittyfull, 600hp would be respectible. Saying that, he'll have something like that to run 147mph. How are the guys in the states getting into 9's ? gas ?
wasn't the fastest FWD drag car in the UK a rover 25?
would sticky hot, well prepared tracks. make masses of difference.
I've heard it's 10.27 @ 147 Rob, still the fastest FWD, where did you hear 10.1 ??
I was scanning through a post somewhere with the comment of 10.1? maybe thats wrong then? either way he should be in 9s with that trap last time i seen his car sure he was on 22"s or 23"s drag.. get no where with them on...

Is this 10.1@143 if so last october that one?
looks like hes on 23s still , should be rolling with the 24.5s.... go blow his 60fts off scoff
10s 130s good target..... i think you will see that this year i wanted to see your 60fts on the 23s over the 22s. oh well.... the new tyre choice should work well, be investing in shafts, shoots and bars soon...
UPDATE
CPL honda civic 10.08@148mph test and tune day April 4th.... 1.69 60ft so could do better ET... I can smell the first 9sec front wheel drive car in uk......

iirc this is the 1000bhp civic, turbo'd on throttle bodies
i have it in a mag some were, cant even rember what one it was but a awsome car,
and a 10 second fwd car is ultumatly impressive
more to the point, when are we going to see a Renault in the 10s/130mph? If I'd known it was going to take this long I'd have had a crack at it
ah i see i know what you mean now,
the newer civic that cpl but the one im thinking of is a ep9
750bhp

Edit: found it
http://www.blazingtype-r.com/2009/02...24-1000hp.html
Scoff, a bit more boost should do it!!
This isn't a missed opportunity Andy, crack on
Go for it andy poor thing is sat there with half its guts on a miller or a lathe...
civics do run 8s so no one is against that word... so has this 1000hp ran at pod? if so what traps? and why doesnt he entry in to drag events... im sure ive seen the car sumwhere but CPLs civic has the record?? and cpl doesnt have 1000hp...
just becasue im set in my ways and the fact i hate being proven wrong
tho.. this is it in its eairly stages

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hgweQp1Y2Qo
havent seen any new vids since and it was infact about 3 years ago i saw it
tho going by the pics its changed alot
so i dont see why it cant be the 900 bhp its said to be
see, I've run my Delica at the Pod, and I've seen one trap over 150mph, would you believe me if I told you I had 1500hp?
I do know what a Honda can do, I work with a guy from here

135mph with the plumbers tube on
check the comments, best of 9.16@155
omg
i cant dicribe how mental that is. shizzle that is abit hairy!! now sod ya tourqe steer, gimmie some rear steer
You see the spec of this mentioned 1000hp civic and from what ive read on yanky sites it could well put down 1000hp on a dyno, ive seen many doing so over there.. Central Florida guys have built there new k engine which is pushing 1000 now i beleave...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g6S8W...eature=related
But hasnt had a clean run:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=68sU-...eature=related
Now there old car was traping at 160mph and wasnt 1000hp there expect near or over 170 with this car i would have thought...
From that clip at pod with that civic traping at 123mph shows either somthing is wrong with the car or it doesnt have that 1000hp being put down...
Just to add here is a D16 1.6 SOHC record holder todate...Now hes got around 600hp and look at his trap speeds to suit.....
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YccjIP9Qlsc
So from the above its why im lead to beleave that there isnt a single front wheel drive UK car yet to put down its 1000hp on the track.
Is it just me, but whenever I see a 1/4 strip in America it appears that it slopes down about half way.
watching the run on the rolling road just makes me think cowboys, you need a bench dyno for stuff like that. Second thing I note is the power curve, they're going to have to rev it higher to get to 45psi...
Loving the turbo placement on this one

suppose it works tho steve!
is a bit of a strange place but then the manifold would be roght behind the intercooler any way so not far for the piping to go, also, on track your unlikly to suck some thing up. maybe a fly but thats about it
Ok chaps, list here of the uks fastest fwd cars in 10s or lower, any missing post up...
