    Re: Carb service

I managed it man. All i did was printed the guide from the articles section. Got a real clean work surface and some vingar to wash parts in , and took my time doing it section by section and highlighting it as i went along. If you are worried about getting any of it back together take a pic.

    Re: Carb service

I'm planning on doing my carb soon as I have no idea what state it is in internally but given how bodged the rest of the car has been no doubt it needs it! Some pretty good guides in the article section I doubt it will be much hassel to do.

Whats the best way to bring the actual carb housing up like new, a rub down and some silver paint? or bead blast it? naturally all gasket faces and what not would be covered.

To clean mine up I used a screwdriver to scrape the worst off, a stiff brush and some wire wool. It doesn't look like new but its clean enough for me

Markey B done one with a dremmel and it looks amazing.

your throttle stop idling speed is satisfatory right?,do that first,
then turn mixture screw until engine hunts an then turn it in until
the hunting stops,if your idling speed has now become to high turn
    out your throttle stop.
    try that!!

it seems the grp a what was on there was better on idle etc but just hesitated on boost sometimes......My mixture screw maybe fooked as it seems to make no difference when adjusting...may swap the bottom bit with the green seals and mixture screw over.....also the accelerator pump how far must that be screwed back on??

So no mixture screw in the service kit? Does it just have a small o-ring retained on the end or something?
