I had one day to make this seemingly tidy 350Z look it's best.
It arrived fairly clean, having been bought just over a month ago from a dealership and not washed since.
The car received the usual safe wash and decontamination before being brought inside for a thorough inspection.
Paint depth readings were as expected for a Datsun, no horror stories... until the lights went on.
It looked pretty good to start with.
Old polish residue everywhere you could imagine.
And then under the halogen.
A couple of pad and polish tests before settling on these results.
The colour was looking much deeper.
Left side unpolished - right side polished. I don't think it showed up so well in the photo.
Bonnet and the top of the wing were polished here, the face of the wing as it was before.
Gloss black B pillars are always bad.
A very light polish.
Passenger side wing before.
And after.
The metallic flake was really starting to come out.
The interior was vacuumed out, carpets and matts protected.
Leather cleaned and protected.
Plastics were cleaned off using Auto Finesse Total.
Tyres dressed with Auto Finesse Tyre Creme.
Glass cleaned with Auto Finesse Crystal.
Exhaust tips polished with Auto Finesse Mercury.
The wheels weren't sealed, by request. The paint was very flaky so more time was spent on the paint work.
2 layers of Auto Finesse Desire were applied 2 hours apart.
