    Turbo advice

Looking at up grading my turbo

    Considering a full T25

When would you expect this to start coming on boost?

What spec would people recommend? (360 bearing??) as I don't really know what I'm talking about when it comes to the internals of the turbo.

I obviously want to up the bhp, but am also considering the driving factor and at present the T 2 comes on boost to early for my liking, particularly motorway driving!

I'm open to suggestions as I'm not power figure chasing, and I'm obviously aware that I'll need to upgrade intercooler and fueling etc.....

Mike's got a full t25 which has the.49 rear and it pulls hard at 15psi mate, he's got a cam but it starts coming on boost about 32/3500 rpm and you can drive on the motorway at 70 not on boost boss

    Re: Turbo advice

    Cheers guys,

Boost coming on at around 3/3500 sounds good

With regards to other spec: .49 etc

What do these actually mean, im assuming its the sizes of the compressor & exhaust housing

But is the greater the number meaning larger? And potentially slow spool up?

    Re: Turbo advice

So really then, as im not figure chasing

A stock T25 with 360 roller bearing would do the job?

And where is recommended to buy from?

Oh f**k Mark youve thrown another question in the mix

So a full T25, can still be a full T25, but with a T2 exhause housing

Yeah, the turbo itself will be a T25 (core, wheels and compressor housing) to what ever spec you choose but you have a T2 rear housing machined to fit

    Surely that's a T2 hybrid?

No because the core of the turbo is T25, in the theory your basically fitting a T2 housing to a full T25 off a Tomcat for example

If you had T2 core, rear wheel and exhaust housing and then T25 compressor and wheel then that would be a T2 hybrid as your modifying the T2 turbo
Could also call that a T2/T25

cr turbo...iv just purchased one last week. should arrive in next couple of days. excellent people to deal with. call you when they say and if they have any issues. £612 , sent my old one in, but it was completely shot, so it was £50 0r so more expensive for t25/t2 delivered. mark recommended it as hes doin my engine. that's with 360 bearing

Hi Alex.My t25/t2 was built by cr turbo. It has a 55 trim comp wheel and a tb22 turbine wheel in a 47 t2 ehaust housing.19lb of boost with standard internals gives just short of 180hp.I have just bought a tomcat with a 360 thrust bearing etc so will be running the same boost on that soon.
