Too many factors like tyres/tyre size or if you had a differential, launch control, weight, standard gearing, drag ratio etc.

If you look at the bar at the top and click 1/4 mile leader board that should give you a good idea of some of the best in the business mate.

Decent tires, tracking etc you should be able todo it in the mid 5 second bracket I guess. Think I got a French performance mag some where that had a fair few members from here in a mag feats shoot out at a proving ground with the timing gear fitted recording similar times etc.

    Re: 0-60 with 200bhp

I managed 6.2 seconds with only 150hp t2 turbo and road tyres at Rockingham speed way national day.

At pod with slicks and 200hp I would have said 5 seconds or below is certainly possible.

Nobody can prepare you for the pure grip with a set slicks at pod, full throttle launches and it's just grip grip grip then a broken gearbox

There's a vid somewhere of me handing a 300hp+(so he said in the que) 4wd Audi s3 it's arse at pod, he was on those road legal drag slicks.

    http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=KbiVuZcp-rw

And I even let him go first

I think in 2005 I managed a 4.7 and a 4.9 at trax with the 1397 still. And the year before I did a 3.9 in the rear engine'd car, also with the C1J. And in 2011 with the 2L at santa pod it will have been about 2.8. 0-60 isn't shown on the time slip of course, but it's not hard to translate one to the other

    2.8...... That's insane

I would be interested in how you work out the 0-60 time from a quater mile time slip?

Purely for bragging rights of course

    Re: 0-60 with 200bhp

I done a timed 4.9 0-60 at york raceway a couple of years ago.

This was in the van that weighs 920kg - over the ton with me in it..1397 c1j approx 220-230hp. 7.5k launch and strong head wind, resulting in 13.0 qtr mile.

    This is the run http://m.youtube.com/watch?feature=c...&v=-4ttrP0geAY

The grip isnt fantastic at york i recall 1.8-1.9 60ft times. At the pod i have done 1.7 and 12.66 qtr so could maybe go slightly quicker?

How many times have you goosed shafts / clutches mate? I sidestepped the clutch in the meg at 4000rpm. The diff loads immediatly and you literally rocket off the line.

My kids were in the car at the time ( irresponsible parent accusations I await ) and they said that was the coolest thing they have ever done.

I'm not the only irresponsible parent then, I went sideways round a roundabout the other day in me bmw on purpose, the other half looked shocked and the two in the back were just grinning

You need more than 4k rpm for a fast 0-60

Not had a problem with clutches really Andy. The ap paddle still seems to be fine after ten thousand miles, dragstrip and trackdays. Usually do a shaft or two every dragstrip session. Ive never snapped one yet but they have excessive wear after a few launches on the drag radials.

I was there and saw that rear engine five run in '04 , fair play amazing 3.9secs! Ive got a photo somewhere of that RS200 launching on same day, think it did 2.94sec. There was black twin engined Nova there but I think it was German (opel corsa).
