I'll try get some up later for you mate..
Really good to see someone finally doing this engine conversion Should be the project of all projects
I spoke with Grier about doing one (more so in a Clio) a few years back, but it never materialised unfortunately.
I owned an Evo (6) for 5 or so years, if you need any help/info regarding the 4g63.
Thank you i shall ping you messages left right and centre with questions on the 4G63
Little package arrived today while i was at work, had a call from the wife saying "another big bloody box has arrived for you again"
3" inlet and outlet, and sufficient capacity for the power i'll be running, plus scope for a little if i want it Measures overall size 31" x 12" x 3" core size 23" x 12" x 3".
So next week i'll be seeing how she sizes upto the front of the 5, but to be honest the fronts going to be cut and shut so everything fits snug
Cheers guys
This is gonna be a monster! cant wait to see this all done.. Defo following
This Renault 5 has a space frame chassis.

Hey guys,
Wow that is a project and i'm sure he's got the same wheels as me
A little update today, whipped the head off the engine today and took it over to a friend of mine who's going to strip clean and make it like new but sorry forgot to get a photo but here's one of the block, not to bad inside seeing that it's travelled all the way from the land of the rising sun.
The furthest cylinder got a little water in it but to be honest it'll be fine after its been re-bored.
Got the old girl up on stands as well ready to get the engine out, so if any one is interested they'll be a 42k milage 1400cc engine and gearbox avialable soon
Off to see the fabricator tomorrow, so got the car packed with the gearbox, front and rear diff's and associated mounts, plus the mock up radiator and intercooler.
Plus stripped the inlet manifold down to bare minimum because he's going to remove the plenum and rotate it 180 degrees due to the orientation the engine will become.
Cheers for looking guys, the big jobs are get the engine out, remove the doors and glass, remove the loom and dashboard... so not a lot then
Makes me sweat just looking at what you've got to do?!
Keep the updates coming
Feckinhell dave...builds looking immense talk about monster in the making.....also is that ur dads twin turbo monster with the lenco box I see ;-);-)
Top stuff....
Hey Dave cheers for them pictures mate, that fiesta looks awesome and the V8tt
Is that electric power steering? And is the fiesta 4wd? I only ask because I was told to stay with conventional p/s to give better feeling through the wheel
Alright guys, a little update.
Took the engine out today, which wasn't to bad, and i've began stripping the bay of no essential bits and pieces. It looked pretty tidy to be honest, but this will soon change in August
42k mile engine and gearbox available if anyone needs it
Next for this weekend is to remove the fuel tank, exhaust and begin working on removing the dashboard and loom. If anyone will be interested in the dash just let me know and i'll set it aside for you
Cheers guys
Hey guys a little update, managed to get all of the dashboard out now, plus all of the heater matrix.
Removed the wiring loom as well and was suprised how much cabling there was in one of these Happy to say the one that'll be fitted will be a lot more simple
The only thing left to do now is remove the doors glass and front wings. Would anyone be able to tell me, are the doors held in place with small roll pins inside the hindges, if so is it just a matter of knocking the centers out?
Plus the front windscreen do you just push it out, or is there a trick to removing it? And the two side windows again is it just removing the seals around them? any help would be appreciated cheers guys
Managed to finally remove the fuel tank, at first i thought it'd be a two minute job...... nope but got there in the end. She's nearly ready now for the chassis to be worked on, and during that time i'll be stripping down the doors, and getting little odd jobs done, ready for when she returns
Cheers guys
I "think" the rear side windows come out the same way as the rear on those?
As for the windscreen, its bonded in and took me nearly 3 hours to get mine out couple weeks ago and that was already cracks so I wasn't taking my time trying not to damage it.
There's a guide on here some where I think? Cheese wire, sharp knife and long screwdriver. I've been quoted £85 for new screen fitted, so not all bad I guess.
project looks awesome, will be an animal when built!!
i could be very interested in the engine drop me a pm if your in brum your not far from me
Gonna be a monster! And love that fiesta too! where abouts in brum you from mate? Im any in walsall area...
This is gonna be epic.
Hey guys, thought I'd do a little update. The car is ready to have the chassis worked on now, and goes next week so i'll update it and let you know how we got on with regards to planning.
We're going to see roughly wear the engine and gearbox are going to sit and how far back we can push it, plus what the wheelbase and track is going to be, and approximately where the seats are going to be positioned...... still in the cabin hopefully
Cleaned up the unit a bit, and gave it a lick of paint, I think a clean tidy workshop helps with creating a nice car..... lol plus when the cars gone i'll be sealing the floor and painting it, so fingers crossed it'll reduce the dust problem
Can't have an update without a couple of pictures
Thanks for looking guys i'll update next week with a lot more information, and pictures
Hey guys, took the car up today, to "FINALLY" start on the chassis.
Got it up onto the plate and start the strip
Removed the front end
Slide the engine under the car to get a rough idea on where its going to be positioned. We decided to place the front of the engine in-line with the rear of the strut turrets, so putting it way into the bulkhead, and behind the front axle.
Old rubber
New rubber
Thats all for now folks
This is just epic!! I'm loving your thread mate
If that engine went any further back it would be in the same place as mine lol.
Great project.
Hey guys, have a little update to post. The bulkheads been cut and the engines been offered up into a rough position to get an idea on how its going to sit.
I've been sent these photos, so haven't seen it myself as yet, but i'm going up next week to have to gander as to how she's coming along.
Plus the front sub frame is coming along nicely, with the front differential and crossed shaft being mounted.
If i'm honest its like being a kid again, i'm so excited and can't wait to get it finished, but i know its such a long way off. I'm just buzzin
Cheers for looking guys, i'll update again next week
Bout fooking time n all
Been waiting for some update on this, looking as good as expected buddy - keep it up. I'm gonna have to go back and read this thread again now.
Loving it mate coming along nicely!
I ain't Boyd Coddington you know!!! "We need it finished in three weeks"
I'm trying to get hold of a decent GT Turbo front grill either MK1 or 2 but they seem to be crazy prices!!! you wouldn't be interested in selling your phase 1 grill would you?
I'll be bugging you on the 26th btw to see how she gets on
