I've just looked on Mike's website and seen that he sells a cork sump gasket. Has anyone got any experience of these? I always seem to lean towards using too much sealant, so this is appealing to me.

id be using high temp black silicone gasket maker its never let me down.
Loctite black works for me from halfords not cheap but cheaper and easier than scrubbing the drive
Iv used high temp black silicone Volvo sealent which has worked fine, and also used the cork gasket - I put silicone on aswell though lol just not as much, both worked
The gaskets don't work to well. I went through a couple and they both leaked.
Loctite black sealant sorted it and we binned the gaskets.

Also very important detail to tighten the sump in the correct order and to the right torque. I don't have the torque specs. But I can find out if necessary.

Cheers guys, right sealant it is then I'll have a look in Haynes for the torque settings cheers mate
