We mite be haveing to buy some tickets up front so please dont order any tickets as of yet just incase
Not if your wanting a club stand there lads
Club Displays/Camping
Put on a display of the showcars in your club and have a club stand (tarmac where available) with your mates. Club camping on grass is also available for those wishing to make a weekend of it! There's no better way to experience the show! You need at least ten display vehicles to book club camping.
Please return a completed booking form to Donna. Purchasing tickets in advance is NOT mandatory.
It also says we have already got a stand there.

Have they confirmed this to you?
I read it as, you fill in the forms stating how many cars. You can add more space up to X date if its available. People arrive and pay.

Sounds like she's pushing for a sale, the forms state in bold that tickets are not mandatory when booking a club stand.
all we are saying is we are going to be there on the day nothing else if someone wants a stand they can contact pod
Marc your so vocal on everything were trying to do why you didnt put your name forwards to help the club but you want to judge every move we make and its starting to really winde me up so whats the problem marc have i done something lets have it out whats the problem
no mate dont mix my words i stated that we are All going to meet there on this day if someone wants a stand they may need to contact pod first thats all im proud to be a rtoc member so theres no need to start on anyone this thread was started for the purpose of seeing whos going on the day.
Cool. that thread already exists here though:
https://www.rtoc.org/boards/showthread.php?t=31609
Thanks, we have
Come on guys chill a little... We're the good guys here chris you doing a great job you do what you can for us put the offer on the table and see who takes it. No need to stress it's a day to enjoy
you just had a go at marc. not at me all i want on this thread is names of people that are going, a big thanx to SLAMMED 66 for bringing this event to rtoc members.
lets just have a good day at the event and hopefully theres a stand there too representing rtoc all i was trying to do is save the club money by havin ALL of us turn up on the day thanx mick
Are you tracking mick?
Who's going up the strip? Anyone?
Yes i had a go at marc not just because this thread but others. we are trying to get the club well orgainised at the smaller events now one of the problems people had with the pod last year was it was disorganised and not a club spiret now i thought it would be good if we are all togetlher and turned out like the other clubs there
Chris and mick you both saw what pod was like as all three of us were parked just anywhere.. I agree pick a spot and meet if there is space for this.. The prob is we all really still only know most members off the site and not personally.. But I met both of you guys and I know your not bad eggs.. Lets not make things hard for each other were all in the same boat.. It's easy tell me where to be and I will be there who ever else dosnt want to park there so be it.. You can only do so much guys.. I appreciate all that's being done by all. This is the week of LOVE after all lol
I'm not judging I'm stating what I see.
It says no tickets need to be purchased when booking a stand. I don't see why we would risk buying tickets and not having people turn up and make a loss when we don't have to. It's not difficult to book a club stand, if the pressure is getting to you already then I will do it.
You say there was no club spirit at pod last year, I don't recall meeting you?
Ive updated the other thread here with the names from here and made a tidier list of what was already on there, to try to keep just the one thread for the one event
https://rtoc.org/boards/showthread.ph...d=1#post314733
If ive missed you off the list then please add yourself.
Thanks
Ross
The stand IS booked and no tickets where bought at the time of booking. They DO however need to be paid for before the event to get the stand passes.
If we have no stand passes, we have no stand. Anyone who wants to pay on the gate wont have a pass allocated to them and wont be on the stand. This is confirmed with Donna at Santa Pod. Its their rules not ours.
Ross
Ross has answeared your question refrence tickets and i was at pod last year all be it with out my car i didnt know anyone and i could only speak to them if they were stood rite next to their car mark as i was a newby so i think that is an example of why if we were better organised under a club banner it would be easier for newbys also the pressure isnt getting to me your attitude is
mods delete this thread please
I agree its not a great thread but i wont lie down all the time i am freidnly guy and want to help but look again another negative thread look at my first two posts they were freindly and yet again people just want to argue well i have kept quiet but theres a few on here that just want to shoot everyone down
this thread needs cleaning up.your all just doing your bit
i agree about the new people pal.i have been on here a while but only know people by the tag ie my one r5_scotty. be nice to actually meet some guys. thats if everyone else is up for it????? if not no biggy.
those who do maybe we could meet on route??? im coming from southend so i guess meet on the m25 or somthing.could be a good day i love going pod
My 2 peneth
I attended Frog last year, or possibly 2011 and thought it was gash. Sure it was good to meet up with the usuals again but the place was empty. It was clear that the RTOC was not going to hold any events here like they did 10 years ago, when the whole park was awash with a range of great turbo-charged Renaults.
I applaud Micheal for starting this thread as it's been suggested many times in the past at AGM's that we need to piggyback other events as we do not have the participating member numbers that we used to have. That's not a dig, it's reality, for many many reasons, people can't, don't want to, or simply just can't be bothered to get involved in RTOC events any more - that's a fact. So someone taking the initiative to post up this event is a great step forward in getting people together with there cars. If any of the committee have issues with this then it should be sorted away from the public area and in fact the committee should be encouraging such inspiring behaviour as it will bring more members together and naturally get people knowing people in real life rather than through the WWW. If you're all worried about the club 'image' and getting a stand there, if this is not possible, I would guess that a pack of 10 - 20 Retro Renaults covered in RTOC stickers and a bunch of members running around with the RTOC clothes on would be a good starting point and with a few quick cars on the track, the Renault brand will speak for itself.
So to summarise - events have been voiced on here many times without success, This is a novel slant on what has been tried and failed before. I hope it works for those involved and I hope that both the committee and the non committee can pull together and make something really good happen instead of having a pop at each other.
PS - if you want to see failed attempts at members suggesting events that know one goes to look at my PPC efforts - classic!
What it is that if we are wanting a stand we can at no cost but heres the catch you need stand passes now to get stand passes you have to pre order them you cant get them on the day so we thought if we get a definate list of who wants to be on the stand then we will order them and a few more i think this thread needs deleting or cleaning up
What you say sounds good though big club presence, stand great. Ok I see, the barney was about pay on gate or upfront... Silly.
Be nice to see so many renault turbos in attendance
Good news is that the club will be selling tickets through the club shop.
Every ticket that we sell (40 total) will come with a stand pass.
So to be clear.
If you buy a ticket from the club shop, you will get your ticket early and get your car on the club stand.
If you wish to pay on the gate, then you will have to pay the full admission price and park in the car park.
You can pre book your own ticket with Santa pod but you will not get a stand pass and will have to park in the car park
Full prices and details of the club shop tickets will be announced shortly.
Thanks
So why were some people complaining in that 'Events' thread from last week that there wasn't an rtoc Pod event as such this year, when you guys were/are already doing a grand job of organising a club stand there, sorting the tickets for members, etc?
Words fail me sometimes...
But Ross started the thread about this (https://www.rtoc.org/boards/showthread.php?t=31609) a week before the infamous 'Possible events, have your say' thread, so aforementioned complainers must've been aware of this/a Pod event in the making.
Anyway, it doesn't matter, and not worth another thread going to pot.
Good on ya's for sorting this event for the club. Definitely what's needed
