Almagamating both groups into one is a great idea...if possible?
Totally
Considerations:
FB Page = RTOC
http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/RTOC/230200617060130
FB Groups = Renault 5 GT Owners
http://www.facebook.com/#!/groups/r5gttoc/
and RTOC
http://www.facebook.com/#!/groups/rtoclub/
And Renault 5 GT Turbo - Has been migrated (don't know where or what to?)
http://www.facebook.com/#!/groups/137899785377/
Andy (Blunty) is doing a superb job with the R5 GT Owners group ...
good thing is we can link our pages/groups to each others which will again hopefully help branch things out.
Nice one chaps
In an ideal world, and no reason why this can't happen, Romil, Blunty, and the Committee should all work together on their respected FB pages/rtoc.org, so that we're all one big happy family; eg, even if they're not an rtoc member, they should be made to feel welcome at our ND, and likewise, there shouldn't be any ill-feelings if rtoc'ers turn up to a Facebook arranged event.
nail on the head mart i have never understood why anyone would not want to use fb as a way to help cast the net much further out. And with regards to attending events we should all be able go as one big group would be daft to do otherwise.
Only other problem I can see is people will end up thinking why pay to be a member when I can get it all for free? Not being a pessimist btw, just an observation.
I see what dave is saying so that just proves we need to progress and make being a club a happy club were people want to spend there hard earned to stay here.. So far iv met great enthusiasts so here I will stay.. Obviously not everyone will get along that's human nature.. We've made a good step forward tonight so lets keep it going.. Well done to all envolved today I always like progression
Romil is now Administrator on the RTOC's two pages:
FB Page = RTOC
http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/RTOC/230200617060130
and RTOC
http://www.facebook.com/#!/groups/rtoclub/
Looks like i gota catch up and get facebook
I've joined, I think lol.. Thanks to Steve for the approval..
Is it not possible to stop/remove ads?
You guys are all right... Let's provide some solutions rather than problems (stupid work chat but it works)?
Its a hastle to have to check in 2 places! Which has the latest post/update? Some people can access FB at work, other can't! Same with www.rtoc.org. FB is better suited to smart phones.
- I have posted the ND event on FB, RTOC member get a discount on the event,if non-RTOC members buy tickets, the club makes money
- On the same hand, I have posted the Sangliers event too but we wont profit from this. Other than publicity and when non-RTOCers see what a lovely bunch of people we are (except Car.Crash), they will hand over their £25... Oops sorry, £15 to join up.
RTOC is the club and FB is a social networking site. (Not everyone on RTOC is social - JOKE before anyone starts )
P.S. I have pasted links from the RTOC events calendar, I was guessing you can only see the event if your a member? and would encourage people to join (clever I know
Well done mate good work its great to see things start moveing
Oooo no out come the long bolts n gaffer tape
Good work Romil
As Facebook Guru now Romil, if you want to bin one of the groups off and concentrate/build on one then that's fine by me. It was Millie who suggested we grab the RTOC pages whilst they were still avaliable? Not being a FB guy myself, i've never got to grips what the difference between the two are?!
Make sure you don't end up making it difficult for us non-Facebookers to stay abreast of what's happening!
Twitter is a good idea. That can reach a lot of people and potentially get folk who used to own Renaults back in touch.
the main idea was to spread to word and let as many people know what is happening were and when. all the main information discounts and tecky stuff will stay with rtoc.org and it's members, rtoc will remain the main hub and the place to be.
the old way was to hand out flyers. now we have facebook and twitter to do the same job but on a much cheaper and bigger scale.
proff is in the evidence it works

the curry tour now is 20 plus strong when a curry is called
great stuff
That's the way to do it
