I guess it shows how bad these cars can get if there not looked after properly

I definatly think a good undersealing is in order lol
How much miles did yours have?
Mine made only 118tkm when i bought it so maybe that contributes to the somewhat better bodywork.
Mine only has visual rust but the underside is solid.
Mine has 86000miles on the clock, I think half the trouble with mine is that it looks like it was never properly under sealed from new but then again it's French so it was never gunna last forever lol
perhaps the preivous owner liked trips to the beach
I F***ING HATE THE FRENCH, B****Y CHEESE EATING SURRENDER MONKEYS SHOULD BE BEATEN WITH THIER OWN BAGUETTE AT BIRTH.
Just been getting the anti roll bar off the 9, stupid frogs didn't half make it had work on these. The captive nut on the inner mount isn't fookin captive and there's feck all space to get to it
please don't kill your pc screen
A little less stressed than last time but at least progress is being made. The outer anti roll bar bushes are the same as clio 172 items so I've got some jobs for those, the inners I'm hoping will fit too but have to wait and see.
Both wishbones were bent so I've got new ones and at a pretty good price too. If all goes to plan they should all go back on Saturday morning and the 9 can finally drop back onto its wheels for abit while I wait for a slot in the chop shop to do the sills.
you bringing over to malcs again are you?
might be a while .... as im been waiting for the past week or so and as the saying goes first come first served
As butterbean says, it's booked in at the CTD chop shop
Been working on the 9 tonight with a fair amount of success the new wishbones and anti roll bar outer bushes are fitted, just need the new inner bushes to turn up and she'll be ready to drop back on to its wheels
Here's what the old outer bushes looked like, note the red insulation tape to take up the gap where the rubber has worn through, worrying as this car was maintained by a Renault stealership
New bushes in place
New wishbones on
Beautiful when it starts coming together.
Solid discs ftw!
Good work Oli, am liking tin of wax oil under the bonnet! lol thinking I need to invest in set of outter anti roll bar bushes, did you find the ones on the 9 are slightly longer than gtt bushes?
Finally the new wings have arrived
Should have them fitted and have the front bumper refitted by Tuesday so it can get to the chop shop
Got board so I got the new wings loosely fitted
They look good and the fitment is damn near perfect, just abit of tweaking on the drivers side behind the indicator but I figured that may happen as the inner wing was the worst there.
How ever I now have a new problem, the new wings turned up with no cut outs for the side repeaters, do I leave them out and go for a nice smooth look down the side?
I'd say leave them out. Good progress mate!
Are the fenders still available new? Unfortunately i can only get one side here...
OE? What's the price?
Phoe! Crazy money! Although i'm not surprised!
Expensive is better than not for sale
Well could've find them aftermarket
You have a point.
to be fair thats not a bad price... genuine is always a better fittment aswell.
10-45% depends on the part really..
Plus if they find any old stock i normally get given it
Niceone mate, looks like they fit well, am thinking about a new wing on my 11 if they have an offside one
Are the aftermarket wings a good fit? My old ones were poor and miles out of line from the edge of the bonnet.
Got board of waiting for butterbean so I broke out the grinder and attacked the passenger side sill to see how bad it is and erm........
Standard 9 rust lol
They're French
what would you rather have..... a metro or a renault 9 of the same vintage? - the metro's have mostly rusted to nothing!! good old Austin!
