i went to this today thought it was a really good show lots to do and see. met nottswoody top bloke and his mate with the raider really good day even the misses enjoyed it
this was thee best frog of the pod i have been to, loads to do on the night, bars open, live bands, stalls even a tatooist. great to meet gt josh and gt phil and they looked like they were having a great time getting loads of runs in. really was a shame more didnt turn up. if people dont turn up to events then i am sure that events will eventually dry up
The vw boys know how to attend.
Was a good show with some nice cars thrown in, happy days
Ha I will take that all day long bud well I gave it all the beans she had till she could do no more the best I could get was 15.2 and it was great fun proved to myself Im happy the way the 5 reacts on the streets but not for pod runs so the plan is to go ahead with the cam an slight head work and a little bit more carb work.. Was leaning out at 80mph now I have drilled the 2nd stage out to 1.3 what else do I need todo to keep it right top end? Thank you rtoc comittee members one and all for organising this I will defo do this again..

Had a good day, nice to meet a few new faces and see the regulars
Seemed to be a lot of people signed on for a test & tune day though. I only done 4 runs and waiting 30 mins + in the queue for a run which was dissapointing tbh. Just seemed like the old days where a handful of us used to rock up to a rwyb day.
I was expecting a few more rtoc to turn up though, sort it out without support these events will dry up for sure
just like to say me and mike had a wicked day, meeting the legend van and mr brigsy also meeting notts and some others too, as usual all decent peeps and of course my mates at the surrey meet phil, shaggy, the crash, markey mark, mr reed, i even had a whippy van placed on site for the crash lol, got loads of vids of all the renault 5 boys runs which ill up to youtube asap, i agree wiv brigsy too bout the pod day, but couldnt we all just rock up and pay on a set day????? or do we get a good discount??? thats my 2 penith worth anywayz, brilliant day weather held and i got sunburned some how lol tc all and thanx again mick
i turned up, had fun, had a whippy
Did anyone else have a McIndian. Yummy.
I turned up and had the baddest pizza in the world, ever!
Well I went, and what I saw wasn't what I was expecting at all. It was like we were trying to gatecrash a VW event! I swear the woman on the gate chuckled when I said I was there with the RTOC! As Brigsy said, it felt more like a 'normal' day that some of us turned up to, like the old RWYB days. We didn't even appear to have a dedicated parking area, unless I missed it
On the plus side - It was good to see some different stuff at the pod (there was some crazy stuff going up the strip), and there was a lot going on, as our days have always been a bit quiet, and empty. At the same time though, that 'exclusive' feeling wasn't there. Although 1/4 mile doesn't appeal to me, I've always loved our pod days. The feeling and atmosphere, that the place is just ours for the day, followed by an evening on the beers, munching a dodgy bbq, and having bucket-loads of banter, is always awesome!
Overall though I had a good day
I also got there and back (190 miles) without having to refuel the car. That's not happened for a few years. My computer is telling me that I've still got another 260 miles worth in the tank - Clio FTW
Had a good day met some nice chaps. Managed to get 6 runs in, dissappointed in that respect. I was under the impression that the track was 70% ours... Not a rwyb. Managed 14.9 @95mph due of me and Phil sharing slicks I ended up not getting a go with them on and couldn't put the power down in 1st and 2nd. Car was emptying the bowl. No matter what I did with te carb. Gutted really as if we had the track exclusive i could of done spme more 'test and tune' work.So new fuel pump and some wiring is in order for big boost. Car went well, after I fixed the gearbox that was! Well well. Thanks for the weekend. Shame more peeps didn't turn out!
I had a good weekend all in all, I was amazed at the turn out for the vw event.
Without a doubt the track was much better than I have experienced before, just the ques were a problem, I managed 6 runs all day inbetween making some rushed changes to my carb, compare that to 20+ at last years pod day and well there wasn't really enough time to test and tune.
I didn't manage to get the time or terminal speed I was after unfortunatly, and then at 4:30 it started to rain so they shut the strip half hour early also
A lot of breakages also on the day held things up for the runners.
Was nice to see a few fives turn up and to put some faces to names so to speak.
I just love the whole atmosphere at pod, it's a petrol heads heaven! I hope as a club we can sort something out for next year and if not then it will have to be rwyb for us in the future.
A big thankyou to all involved and to those who turned up
I enjoyed the day, good excuse to get the r5 out, certainly was pretty damn busy, im going to guess if it was a normal test and tune day there wouldnt of been half as much, however the vw crowd ramped up numbers big time. I couldnt run as my car has an issue with currently running very rich on idle, as as such sooting crap up etc however it was still very fun to watch, shame about teds motor chewing the dust straight away, but i guess thats the way it is sometimes .
until the next time.. chowwww
Was a long drive home on my bill ... but got home safely .. good to meet up with old and new people .... just cant believe how busy it was ..... Managed to do 4 runs and ahieve a pb time but not terminal speed ... wish i could lauch the car better .... Managed a 13.9938 @ 102.57 on road tyres ... i was happy with that
perfect track and weather but no rtoc parked area for members or for mike gt turbo spares to set up his stand my luck ran out on my jc5 gearbox the diff bearings gave way when i lanuched so that means my new 21turbo driveshafts that i fitted are up to the job as i was breaking driveshafts every week.plan for winter months 6 speed gearbox conversion.ps can we have are own pod day back please for RTOC .ORG
Did you not get any runs in then Rob ?
just to let all runners know im uploading all runs to my photobucket now there in HD wooooooooooo and are great, im not sure who ran?? cars i didnt know are the silver ph1, and a couple of phase 2s, i know glens, robbies, brigsys, mikes r5 but not all so maybe the others can let me know, i had 148 clips to go through so a quick thanx is cool if ya like them, im doing a full dvd of all clips which includes the rapid subaru if anyones intereseted lol
I had a really great day and also met some great people everyone friendly and helpful and quite a lot of 5's well most I've ever seen in one place lol would definitely attend other events in future shame about the black 5's box breaking sounded an animal but all in all a class day
The raider with the slicks is my brothers. GT Phil
Good track yesterday, shame about the queues. How many people saw the grey AME polo run with it's 1200hp R36 turbo 4x4 setup ? That was blistering
I would also like to thank mike for being there " you need a sign mike we looked EVERYWERE for you bud" found you in the end
i got recordings of all quick cars on day 147 clips of bikes, cars, rtoc, drags, top fuel amazing it comes out at 53 mins of footage going to watch it in abit the day was amazing, phils surrey meet next me and mike must love it lol
If you want to see that sort of thing all day long, go to Santa Pod on Sunday, I will be there. Cant wait to see the dragsters do there 4.5 sec 1/4 mile
