Re: Cossie intercooler
Im using one of these too and at 20+ psi without any issues, pretty sure blunty is also using one with well over 200bhp from his engine.
would be interesting to see charge temps from various coolers to see how effective they are

Re: Cossie intercooler
I have been a pikey.
I havent bolted mine to anything. Its not heavy, I let the pipes take the strain.

Re: Cossie intercooler
I cant get a pic at the mo as its wanging it down. ( I hope all the blyton lot have packed up ! )
I can desribe the run tho ?
From the carb top to the front. Just behind the alternator and down to behind the bumper, a final 90 into the cooler
Other side is from snail 90 degrees short run , 90 degrees down and then another 90 deg into the cooler end

Really struggling with the drivers side passengers is easy.. Do I have to chop anything?

Re: Cossie intercooler
No - you shouldn't have to chop anything. It might be tight depending on theeidth f you pie run. Have you a campus bottom pulley?

Re: Cossie intercooler
It will be tight thrn. I had to put on a campus pulley and belt to pull the alternator closer to the block so I could get he pipe behind it.

I've ran one for the past 6-8 years and its been spot on, all alloy construction so no popping. Very well pleased with it.

Re: Cossie intercooler
Which cossie cooler did you go for? 2wd or 4x4? With my 2wd one there was only minor modification to the inside of the bumper, fits snug

Re: Cossie intercooler
Think it's 2wd and Iv had to chop all the brases out and the bottoms I will tidy it up easily but was hoping it just slipped in.. SO was guessing that's why everyone has them on show?

Re: Cossie intercooler
You haven't got a chance of getting the 4wd one behind a standard bumper. The 2wd cooler should just need a shave

Re: Cossie intercooler
How can I tell the difference? It must be 4x4 as its Sitting right up to the body and there is no space an so far I shaved at least three quarters of the braces off at the back and I can see me just cutting them out altogether

Re: Cossie intercooler
Just googled it and yep it's 4x4.. Is that good or bad?

Re: Cossie intercooler
Bigger core.
But doesn't fit behind standard bumper.

Re: Cossie intercooler
This I now know I will sort it somehow.. It will be the only body mod I'm doing.. That would be why it was cheap.. Anyone else fitted the 4x4 ic? How much to I cut out?

Re: Cossie intercooler
So it's on and running but I can't tell a bit of difference really glad I only paid £40 for the lot tidies it up I guess but as for performance the pace was just as good really tbh but hey that's modding..
