Callipers look good, done at Big Red?
Oh yeah, forgot to say, shes looking good Steve, good work
What a F'ckin nightmare of a weekend trying to get the car all ready for next weekend's Festival: 9 hours Saturday & 11 hours Sunday
Cleaned & degreased the engine & engine bay
Fitted 11 turbo gearbox
Dropped engine & gearbox back in
Fitted exhaust pipe bung
Swapped discs round (Thanks Mart )
Adjusted seat slightly
Car is effectively back together now but it's not quite running as sweet at it always was, (got some water round the dizzy & plugs etc) so need to fit new plugs & dizzy cap etc to make sure that's and also need to have another go at adjusting the new gear selector rod as I can't seem to get 5th gear or reverse properly
Glad I'm going to be at Blyton early on Friday to give me chance to give it a run round, finalise a few things & bed the brakes in!
Bed the brakes in, stick the front on axle stands, spin it up then lean on the brake pedal
So have had a bit of a result on this Pallets!
I e-mailed JSW Car Care to see if they knew anything about Stephen Jones and to also see if they are the same JSW, and I had a reply from them tonight saying when they next see Steve they will mention it to him!!
Looks like we may be able to find out a bit more about the 1990 elf Turbo Cup and T-Cup?!
Wonder if he's still got the original race overall's he wants to sell??
I've uploaded one of the video's I took from the Telly showing the 1990 elf Turbo UK Cup race from Donnington Park and you can see Steve Jones driving car 28 together with some in car footage!
You can see Steve Jones having a bit of a ding dong with Mark Fish who he eventually passed and finished second!
ENJOY!!
is your devil exhaust straight through no added silencer?
After I just uploaded the video in my previous post I noticed another clip showing some crashes from the race series and they show the crash I took a photo of above!
VIDEO
I mean Steve my cup came with two devil systems i have a OE one but sounds like a tank but i fitted the system that has a silencer fitted halfway down for trackdays etc
Demon tweeks cherry bomb silencer
No wonder there's not many 5s left lol
Perhaps I shouldn't of watched this before bluton
good work Steve, Dave Cox was the guy who drove my car back in the day..It was number 7 back then
who is in the car @ 1.58?, sneaking in... , looks like a radbourne car for sure, nice vid steve..must look more into the history of mine....when i get 5 mins...
I still need to upload all the R5 VHS's we have here. They could reveal some history! Could be something to keep busy over the winter....
I wont be fitting my insert then
stevey baby . is ST cup ready for Blyton for some thrashing
FOOOOOOOOK?!
The water gasket that blanks off the right hand side of the head near the turbo has just let go in a big way & I need a new one?!
Anyone got any ideas where I can get a new one tomorrow?!
If you fancy coming down this way, I got one in the kit which is for Briggs if he dont mind, else might be able to get one ordered in from work if not.
Got it in the corteco kit. Got 6 holes with one corner hole set inwards
Have to ask Briggs permission as technically it's his but if it gets another cup car there I dont mind loosing out of the sale I guess if he changes his mind and needs it, or will get a replacement in from work for him.
Might be onto a winner HERE in Luton?
Whatever you do Steve, DON'T physically go to that place!
Not unless you've got wads of cash with you. The place is a little treasure trove of Renault goodies! Eugein and I kept that place a bit under wraps, but we went up there a few times so he could get parts for his Gordini, and me for my gtt. He gets parts from old closed down Dealerships, and stock clear outs, and he has random parts for all sorts of old Renaults! He's open to a cheeky bit of haggling as well. The more you buy, the better the price
Get that gasket off bigfoot steve
if you get stuck mate ive got the correct thickness gasket paper at work. could make you one if you get really stuck
im sure there will be enough members there to help you push it round for the coupe lap
im sure i pre made some blank gaskets last time il see what i can do tmrw mate. will call you during the day steve
Ive just re-read this, you dont need a gasket for the blanking plate? Why not just take it off and seal it up? Will be fine. Thixo or stikaflex, anything will do
