Good to see this car back in the club.
Wow that's a blast from the past.
That's amazing, looks really well done. I want it
It's lost a chargecooler and the header tank is changed, otherwise it doesn't look to have changed much really glad it's still going. Did you know, that shell was my first car at 17
And it still looks really well the seats are currently Sat in my raider, I bought them off matt (think that was his name) when he had it.
was a fantastic car, hope time and owners have been kind to it
for a second i thought it was BB tunings old demo car, what ever happened to that??
Yeah the owner before the last owner before did a naughty after he agreed to sell to the car and when it was delivered there were several bits missing
Be up for sale soon if you want it back lol......although I said that about my 172 and I still have it!
See above, the seats vanished between sale agreement and delivery. Bit naughty, but hey, not my beef.
Got a few bits to do to it, then a remap, then I think I might "Road Test" it and then probably sell it on. I bought it to save it from just sitting about until death, more than anything.
love that car!

When I bought the seats off matt I went round to his to collect them and he had a pair of very high end buckets sat in it, never knew he was pulling a fast one
Good few years ago now mind
Nice one Dave An rtoc legend of a car for sure
No excuse not to be at Blyton now then
fantastic what a car... why would anyone just want to leave it sat in a barn? far too good to be kept hidden away well done
Looks amazing mate! Wouldnt mind that myself
Only issue I have with Blyton is how many cars I can get there. Trying for 3
Too many cars, not enough time. Moved on from crazy French junk to bigger (more common and faster) things.
Make me an offer. Its for sale for the right price, and will be advertised once i've done the few bits it needs and MOT'd it. Too many cars to keep it long term and although it's special, it's not as special (to me) as the other ones i've had for many years.
Nice car
Madness. What was this pulling 1/4s at??
lovely car that is! i do wonder how it handles with the engine in the back!
Lots of PM's asking about the car....so here is the reply i've been sending.
It needs-
Injectors refurbing or replacing
Remap for the above
New ally fuel tank fitting (Supplied)
New seats fitting (Supplied) they are Recaro's but I do have matching Blue Cobra Monaco's with harnesses I bought for another car i would let go with it at extra cost.
Rust bubbles on bottom of drivers door and a 50p size bit on bonnet sorting out
If I do all that and MOT it I'd ask £3.5k.
As it stands i'd let it go for £2,900. It's a great little car and running a grands worth of standalone management, the execution of it is fantastic. It'd be a cover feature car with a little TLC. It runs low 12s 1/4 mile and would hit the 11's with little effort to tuning.
My mobile is 07969014585.
Additionally, it's just had a new lump put in (I forgot to mention it in the PM's) too.
I be VERY tempted if I was in UK right now!
It handles quite well in the dry, I spent a while experimenting with suspension and geometry. You need to be carefull in the wet though !
That just makes me want it more!
Id snatch that off you if i had that kinda cash.. Love it
It's alive ,I remember when it was sliver
Scoff, am I right in thinking you did something like 5 seconds 0-60 with a 230hp c1j in this car at trax one year? Or was it sub 5 second........
Look - I bought this for a bit of a blarp, and to sell on so it didn't die in misery stuck in a hole.
You're really, really not helping me sell it. I have a reeeeally bad habit of buying to sell, and getting stuck before the "sell" part lol (See Thread all the cars here cost less than 4k combined total!)
Ok then, maybe it was something like 8 seconds
Surely a 3.9 sec 0-60 should help show how good it's straight line traction is dave ? I thought it should be an aid to its sale
It was 3.9 sec 0-60, timed at trax in 2003 or maybe 2004 ? Basically, I gave it large, and whatever was on the dash and in the cuby hole above the heater soon found itself on the parcel shelf Great fun and I miss it sometimes.
The best I could do with C1J and FWD the following year was a 4.6
Phil, I just don't have the space or time these days! You know how life goes
Ian, yes, same car, I painted it blue/grey in 2005 I think ? Then Haz restored the body further when Matt bought it from me .
So what engine is in there now?
Scoff do you recall what tyres you had on for that 3.9 second run?
Volvo b18ft with a GT28R and standalone, unless anything has changed.
was this featured in performance GTI mag around 2006?
Wasn't the plan for this car to put a VAG lump in the back of it?
I believe dale is correct with his statement.
Matt who had it was planning on going vag but I remember something about his granddad dieing and needing to get rid of the car, he put it up for sale took a deposit and arranged a day for collection. The guy buying the car sold his phase 1 and drove from Norwich to up Liverpool way on the arranged day, matt was nowhere to be seen, was rang constantly until he answered only to be told he didn't want to sell up anymore. 2 weeks later the car was sold again but took about 3 months for the deposit to get refunded.
Doesn't suprise me that expected parts had gone missing when it was sold
The original 1700cc engine had a presurising problem and was never mapped for much boost, I don't know if that information made it as far as the chap you bought it from dave. If it hasn't been mapped or at least tested since he swapped the motor then go easy with it dave. Those are tough motors, but easilly killed if the tune isn't right.
No it wasn't he got it under the impression it was good to go.....that would be why it went kaboom in such a short period of use then. We assumed there was an injector issue or similar that caused the failure.
Still, it's got another lump in it now, so a fresh start. Be seeing you soon by the looks of it!
I found the dodgy incar video I did of the 3.9 sec 0-60 in 2004! I remember the clutch cable snapped while in the que getting in and I think it was Bill J who had a spare I pinched and fitted, which is probably still on the car today.......
