    Fuel pump how is it best to fit without breaking again..

    I know this sounds easy but Iv already broke one of the dam things how do I know the pipes are tight enough on the plastic fixings?? I already broke one and I don't want to break another!! Fix it together off the car? Cheers

    Don't need to do it up too tight matey its barbed so its not easy for the pipe to come off. Also its carb so at a low pressure. Do it up gently run the engine and make sure nothing comes out if it does nip it up a bit. Make sure the hose pipe clips do up easily give them a little squirt with wd40.

    Cheers I will be putting all new clips on I think it was just because the filter hasn't been changed for years by the looks of things and the clips I had to cut off.. Just shows another gash job not done by the previous owner.. Cheers

    For future ref: what other cars have the same fuel pump as the 5 as they sent me a bloody campus old style pump and can't get one till the morning.. There must be an alternative?
